SELECT + B = RANDOMISE COLUMN - How did I miss this! Like the best thing ever!! Pure gold! If you could implement it on the other columns as well (vol/tune/pan) I would be so happy!

The new color modes looks great!

Would be nice if A + B also deleted the cell.

I would also request that the bpm goes lower than 60, maybe it's just my style of writing but making a 4 chord loop in a 16 step pattern is something I often end up doing. And for that you need really slow bpms.

Got it to sync decent with lsdj (nano mode(both on a gba sp and a DMG). However it seems like there is a small delay before the gba drum starts to react to the clock so it's a few ticks after, but syncing none the less! A great function would be that if the gba drum didn't recieve any clock for a short while it would jump back to step one in the pattern (see nanoloop), so you wouldn't have to toogle the start button.

Also when syncing in song mode the old cursor does not disappear, when you restart at a different position.

Would be a nice with a sample preview on/off option so the samples wouldn't play when you scroll or edit through them in the sample editor meny. Would be great for jamming and changing sample on the go. (ps love the new sample editor screen!)

Got the whole program to crash. Was making a bassline, tuning the samples and it froze and started playing back random glitchy noises. No idea why, but might also be my gba or my cart.

Actually I kinda just did everything I wanted to do, except test the latest changes on hardware. I wanna release it now cause I'm excited to share it with y'all, but expect things to maybe not work properly.

NEW DOWNLOAD LINK

Heres some of the stuff that changed:

-improved samples screen  (global volume/pitch/pan)
-improved patterns screen (cursor wraps, neater layout, still no key repeat yet i'm afraid sad )
-color modes
-various graphical improvements
-fixed controls and help screen!

-beta sync modes, "nano slave" only, works for me with "nano" mode on lsdj with 2xgba- not fully tested yet at all!! expect this not to work yet.

and maybe the save is a bit broken, and def not compatible with the last release.

Amazing work!!! Is the pitch still in semitones? Was nice to be able to make some melodies in the last version (havent tried it in this one yet). I'll get back with a more detailed report. Keep it up!!

Cool tracks!

Syncing with external sequencer, every pulse being a tick. (diy analog step sequencer)

And nanode, yeah the note tuning controls/interface are totally haphazard atm and will get sorted out soon. But if you have any suggestions for a better layout let me know!

Nice!!

not sure about newer versions, but nanoloop 2.3 's demo rom can run on normal flashcarts (you just can't save, of course)... think you have to hit both the l shoulder and r shoulder at the logo for it to load (or some other two button combo, but i think its the shoulder buttons).. should be enough for anyone wanting to test sync

yeah but a second gba flash cart costs about the same as a nanoloop2 cart anyway hmm

tbh I should be able to rustle something up with a nanoloop 1.x demo on the original gb, and then can maybe just post it for other people to test.

Afaik as I know both nanoloop 1 and 2 use the same sync method, so if you can get it to work with nanoloop 1 it should work for nanoloop 2 as well. However I'm not sure if there would be any problems getting it to sync if your aiming to use GBA -> DMG because of the voltage difference. Sync should be 12 ppqn if I'm not mistaken. Oliver the creator of nanoloop is a super great guy and I'm sure that he could answer any potential questions you'd have about the nanoloop sync.

Fwiw I've been playing around with this every single day since you uploaded the rom, and I see so much potential in this software. Been using it on some no name dealextreme flashcart from back in the days. I do agree with yoyz2k on these things:

What is needed :
- a key repeat for the keypad ;
- when your cursor is at the most left return automatically to the right, same thing for the cursor on the right ;
- change sample volume, could be global for a channel ;

Also with the nanoloop sync! Would open up so many possibilities.

Some things I've noticed, playing around with it and reading the manual:

*The big circle sprite for the loud velocity isn't shown when you switch back and forth between patterns, but will change sprite when you pass it with the cursor.

*The note octave is not functioning at all. Should be UP/DOWN + B according to the manual.

*CLEAR PATTERN  - SELECT + A - Does not work. However A + R clears the pattern.

*COPY PATTERN   - B + L
PASTE PATTERN  - B + R

Is actually A and not B.

*In Song mode. Copy and paste patterns B + L and B + R does not work. However this button combo takes you you to the other half of the song screen.

*The white mode (color mode) is unreadable.

*For naming songs. A + DOWN only starts working after you pass the letter A.

Lsdj and nanoloop use different clock signals. nanoloop uses 12ppqn. I would be forever grateful if it was implemented.

Also just LOVE the random pattern command!

Just an idea but it would be cool with a command that randomizes the semitones as as well. Insta-Acid!

Also a random function on the samples screen would've been cool!

Keep up the great work!

Noob here. Can't figure out how to make the psp build. Downloaded the psdev tools but and read the instructions but still can't wrap my head around it. Eager to give this a try.
