Topic: What are the Seattle and NW chip scenes like these days? (54 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I'm looking into potentially moving to the Seattle area. Everett, maybe. I was wondering how active the area is currently. I know CrunchyCo was a big name n the past, not sure if they're still going as strong as they were a couple years ago.
Also, for those of you in WA or OR, I'd love to hear what you think about your respective hometowns. I'm trying to get a more authentic feel for what the area's all about and put my utopian Tom Robbin's-fueled fantasies aside.
Anyone out there have an opinion? Sound off, I'd love to hear some insider info!

Re: ILKAE - CAN'T PLAY GUITAR - [EIS011] (21 replies, posted in Releases)
Hi there, ilkae just showed me this post... I don't want to steal his thunder, but I'm happy and surprised that I even have fans at this point haha. I have been pretty inactive musically in the last 5 years or so, it makes me sad but I can't force it.
I have a soundcloud page at soundcloud.com/setzer and I am working on a 5-7 track EP that I hope to release before the end of the year. And I certainly love me some vodka/soda.
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU.......................... H-hi, Setzer! You have no idea how many times I went into crazy dance-slash-body-spasms listening to your track on Bovine Rearrangement! Dat filter...
Only in the chip/demo/tracker scenes, folks. =P
*Heads off to soundcloud*

Ilkae, we meet again. I've been running into you since your days with Merck, starting with Bovine Rearrangement. I happened upon you at oink.me.uk too, I think. (amilkae, was that you?)
Whatever happened to Setzer? Why is that track so ridiculously awesome? Where can I find more Setzer stuff? All I know about him is that he's Canadian and he likes booze a lot...and that's because you TOLD me he's Canadian and he likes booze a lot.
Anyways, hi. You're awesome. Keep doing what you're doing!

Re: what changes are in the Nanoloop 2.6 update? (6 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
From an email Oliver sent me a couple weeks ago...worth posting simply for the sake of cataloging data on earlier 2.x releases:
Hi Anthony
- What are the differences between 2.5.1 and 2.5.4? I've noticed 2.5.1 mutes in certain cases when normal/filter/fm note value is placed in the far left column, and will extend 1 column past the boundary box on the right. Was this intentional? In any case, I've encountered it before, and I love it, as assigning an LFO that hits that "mute" column rapidly allows for some really interesting sounds.
Mainly bugfixes concerning song playback. The pause/resume/stepwise function.
- What does C stand for vs. S?
Honestly I don't know why I re-labeled S to C. Should be S.
- Has ping pong been repaired in either of these versions? (haven't tested it yet myself)
Not yet.
- Do you recall what the differences are between versions 2.0 and 2.0.1? I haven't seen one of either in action, sadly. I'm curious if they function like 2.1, 2.2, or 2.3 and after.
2.0 is much the same as 2.1, it just lacks the limiter so that loudness is much lower. 2.01 was a minor update, I don't remember what it did.
Since the new batch of 2.x is based on the 2.2 / 2.3 PCB/Chip combo again, it is possible to get a 2.6 cart with 2.2 on it.

I'm going for Black Moth Super Rainbow. Literally. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
They released their new album, Cobra Juicy, recently, so they'll be all pumped to play the new material, too.
Epic. EPIC.

I'm attending Moogfest this year, was just wondering if there's anyone out there that would like to meet up, hang out, play some music, talk shop, whatever.

I don't see the XL in your post. Did it sell already? If not, I may be interested.

Our reunion performance at the Dragonfly Lounge went extremely well. If you're interested in nanoloop, check this out. All done with a 2.5 cartridge on an advance SP, an Electrix filter queen, and a little EQing.

I'll check with Alex, he's organizing that one. I'm guessing there will be a small cover of $5 or less.

Our show at the Dragonfly Lounge in Madison earlier this year went so well, we decided to do it all over again. Talking Computron (Alex Deeba of getlofi), the Ring Toss Twins, his partners in crime from MN, Los Gringos Locos, a troupe of talented performers (and recently, promoters of some pretty incredible events,) from the Madison area and myself are all meeting up again, same time same place, to give you a night of eclectic music, ranging from experimental acoustic to dance-your-ass-off chipmusic.
