I was not ready for that.

I recently got a DMG (It's yellow so I think that it's 2nd gen or whatever) and am thinking about doing the pro sound mod. But I wanna know if I should even try it, I have some experience with wiring and soldering but not a lot. To anyone that has done it, how easy was it and can it be done by novices?
Any help would be really great. smile

Just a self portrait I did in like 5 minutes.

I listen to this a little while ago. I really like it, impressive for a first on LSDJ smile

Oh my, what a heated discussion hah.
It dawned on me that It shouldn't matter if anyone likes my tattoo if I get one so long as I like it. I mean I have to live with it.
So yeah, thanks for the thoughts shared, but ultimately this was irrelavent because I'm gonna do what I want anyway.

That was my point from the start. Success.

Sorry for heating up your thread. smile

Haha no it's good!
I enjoy reading different people's views on things.

I make it just because I enjoy it, the sound, the process, everything.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I want a kind of geeky tattoo to represent my teen years cause games have always been a big part of my life. So even if it's not 'cool' anymore I won't forget my younger self cause I don't want to grow out of it completely.
But anyway, planning to speak to an artist tomorrow and come up with something, probably something small for now like a little 8 bit 1up shroom on my wrist or something in that vein.
I still wanna hear your guys ideas on tattoos!

I'm gonna be getting a tattoo soon when I get the money together. I've been trying to think of a design and I've come up with a couple ideas like a realistic pac man with pointy teeth and crazy eyes and stuff like that. Then I thought 'Hey, I bet the guys on Chipmusic could lend me a hand.' So if you can think of anything or tattoos you have already post it here!

Is this podacast on iTunes or no?
Also I'd love to contribute, I'll sort some tracks out by the end of the week for you to use if you want them.

Thanks for the kind words everyone smile
Don't feel worried about how I make music anymore. Some places I have been in the past have been really snobbish about it but it's good to know it's about the music and not the way that it's made that is important here.

///on an off-topic note, has 8bc not been working for anyone else the past couple days?? >_<

'Cause 'Down for everyone or just me' is saying that it's working... D:

Yeah 8bc has been down for a while, heard it might be up soon.
Game looks fantastic, can't wait to play!

I am unfamiliar with logic for live performance.
But what I used to do before I used Ableton Live for everything, is render all parts and tracks of each song into loops, and then use Ableton to sequence it live, so you can basically do realtime remixes.

Now a days with all these button controllers, its a really easy and fun way to go. Add realtime effects (filter/flange/degrader/delay/distortion etc) and it's as live as you can get without playing a melody.

Yes this definitely seems the way to go for me. Just have to see about syncing up all my controlls with logic. Sigh...

Follow Andrew's advice. You could even consider adding some extra instrumentation to your track on top of what's already there. Otherwise, effects are the easiest option and that's what I use when playing my Ableton stuff live.

Yeah, my controller has all sorts of pots and faders on it.
Thanks for the help guys smile
