OK, I guess I have to ask my question yet again since no one has answered it STILL and I was banned for  few days.. If you actually read what I said, I asked for info, not WHEN. Meaning, I've never been involved in an open mic before. So how does it work? Do I just have to show up early or do I have to sign something or whut??

Reread what's said. It is a little confusing but he is saying ignore what people say and write music how you see fit. That's why he includes the vsts and DAWs as the first option. The thread is here to give all possible ways of creating vintage sounding chip music either through modern or earlier software/ hardware.

I'm curious as to why "fakebit" is not a legitimate term??? I don't use trackers. And why is there a fakebit comp. if this is not a real term? I don't understand what you mean  by it gets thrown around a lot. Its pretty simple, its people who use software to emulate hardware that isn't trackers.
