XMPlay is THE most accurate module player on PC, switch the mod playback mode to PT1 and it handles most Amiga ones fine too.  (for the rest add the oldsk00l winamp plug-in)   If you want more amiga formats Delix and AHX are here. (though you might want to keep a copy of Deliplayer around for more obscure ones)

Cool Move, bro

But are the folks who were unfortunate enough to not have bought your music not going to be able to get the tracker files?

I was thinking of keeping those offline as they were to say thanks for buying it.  But if nobody minds though I'll upload them to a certain place.

Oh while I'm here, rather embarrassingly I've forgotten the names of the bonus tracks for Surrender.  I've only got them as 12.wav, 13.wav etc.  Can someone tell me what they were called? smile

Using a real amiga is such a pain (both in transferring and then software compatiblity and so on)

Only if you got a shitty A500 or something like that!
A1200s and A600s are easy to setup.

Personally, I love the AD/DA of the Amiga. If I had none, I might emulate, but I always made the little effort needed to always have an Amiga in my house.

how many "how do I run X on Y" 20 page threads have you had Akira? wink

Has anyone taken on the corrolary of "how do we get more people into tracking?"

renoise?

Just download Milkytracker/Fasttracker and use that or emulate with winUAE and use that.  Using a real amiga is such a pain (both in transferring and then software compatiblity and so on) I fail to see why someone would go that route from the start now.  There's nothing even vaguely complex in the sound hardware and you'd really be hard pressed to tell the difference.

news just in: PCs and Macs don't have real hardware or soundchips.

Maybe, but those kind of posts make me look like a douchebag. wink  So instead here are some links, lots of clever stuff to see happening if you check them out in a tool.  Certainly not "just a playback format".  (oh I'm doing it again)

Dune - the nonstop Ibiza experience
Dizzy - Alternative Samba
Carlos+Norfair - A kind of beauty
Bruno - Uralvolga fine
Substance - Phenomenon 2
Heatbeat - Jamming for nothin'
Dizzy - Johdattelupolska
Audiomonster - Melonmania
Groo - Oolah part 1
Dune - Kusi
A-Move - Rise

[edit: can't be bothered]

um, why not just share the module files somewhere?

See there's some tracker ignorance right there.  At what point do you need a sample library?   Have one folder with a few drums sounds in (just like NES guys do with their DPCM stuff or LSDJ guys with their kits) and make the rest of the instruments as you need it.  You don't need any kind of library to write chip modules, heck you don't need to have any prepared samples at all.

Not to start but all those hand drawn waves and stuff will continue to accumulate and eventually you'd want to use some instruments in more than one module so you end up with a "library"... that's just my experience in the short periods of times I've tried to use sample trackers.

yes but all music programs have instruments, and most of them allow you to save instruments out to a "library" of some kind, even if it's just a folder or a bank.  I was just saying you can start with a fresh module file just like with anything else.
