Sounds like a ROM name convention, rather than NSF. One source seems to indicate "alternate version", whatever that means.

My NES music has a smattering of oddball time signatures as well as light experimentation with polytempo/tuplets. For instance...

Drums are 31/16 time while the rest of the music assumes 4/4, then the tempo is halved and the music assumes the same feel as the drums.

About a half-hour of NES originals (and a few unlisted covers) recorded from Power Pak. Any $$ will go toward my travel to Denver CO at the end of June for SGDQ speedrunning marathon (I am world title holder on games such as Super Mario Bros. 2, Metroid, etc.). Please give it a listen if you have time...thank you.

Super Bat Puncher is the best NES homebrew, even though it's only a 2-stage demo. The full version is still being developed, contrary to popular belief.

Miau recently tweeted that he has more time to work on this now. Still, these one-man operations tend to take awhile...nature of the beast and such.

Make music, not drama.

You're missing the equivalent of a deserted ghost town?

It's mostly inactive compared to here and famitracker.com, but it's not a ghost town. People still post there occasionally, and it's got alot of memories attached to it. That's all.
If nullsleep or whoever wants to pull the plug, that's cool, but at least say that's what's happening. The site has went offline so many times it's impossible to ascertain the intention.

I use Renoise for writing soundtracks for my buddy's green screen vids. It's nice because I can just record myself playing in realtime via a midi interface...the hard part is putting together the sample maps and whatnot. I especially like the built-in dsps.

I haven't much messed with vsts yet...I have a ton of samples I recorded myself from Casio/Yamaha keyboards, so I don't really need them. But I think it'd be fun to play with a few, such as a nice Mellotron vst.

anyonee know if any of these things can work in 3 time?

Most music trackers can simulate any time signature. You just have to know how to use certain effects like speed/tempo and note delay to your advantage.

Another problem Deflemask has (which will be fixed in the next version according to Delek) is that GBS export isn't 100% compatible with many emulators (though it's compatible with hardware). Specifically, the vol envelopes are a little...wonky.

Other than that, Deflemask is a pretty great free option. And I've never used LSDJ, but I imagine it's a bit weird tracking music with like 8 buttons and no mouse.

Ha, I was gonna say Lolo but forgot at the last second. I also like the Eggerland games, though they're a bit harder due to the maze factor.

You might try Mario Adventure and Luigi Vs. Mario, two very famous hacks of SMB3.

Ha, I played with those guys (DDG) once. That was an interesting bill.

I recently found out Spencer Seim uses impulsetracker.

Yep....also, Forrest Harding and Robby Moncrieff from the Advantage used to dink around with Nerdtracker.

Government officials used LSDj in mind control experiments back in the '50s. I believe the project codename was FCEUltra or something like that.
