VCMG (Vince kaichan) offuckingcourse. I've said it many a times: his attention to the emotive feelings of music and melodies specifically are the exact thing I wish I could accomplish. He'd be perfect for anything I could imagine and could make things far better then my mind could concieve.

You should see the email exchanges between me and the developer for the game soundtrack I'm doing right now, I'm nowhere near perfect at writing to suit the situation yet haha.

This doesn't quite answer the question but I've always wanted to make a run 'n gun shooter based off of 2PLAYER's Infinity Force, even though it was specifically written to sound like game music.

Aw man, now I'm wishing I'd actually gone to this show.

I can read, and apparently really well, too. Sightreading is pretty easy for me. Im not sure if this influences anything, but I also have perfect pitch.

I'm guessing you're talking about making Gameboy ROMs, and from my (very very very) basic knowledge about Gameboy programming, you'll have to learn to code in C. This site seems to cover only the very basics, but it links to other sites that have more in-depth tutorials and information.

Handheld Heroes did a ROM album thingy not long ago, and it was coded by nitro2k01. You should try talking to him about this stuff.

I like! And when I say I'm not as good as you in SunVox I mean sound design-wise, not composition-wise.

It wouldn't hurt to be at least a little careful with it, though, I dropped my Gameboy and this happened:

you just released On Thin Air, shut up

Well I had someone else make it sound good for me, I didn't do it by myself.

I'm looking for opinions on the mix, since I'm not very good at making things that aren't Gameboys sound good.

QUESTION: Should we redownload if we already grabbed it at FrostByteFest 2012?

~solid~

You don't have to, but this includes SunVox source files and samples that may or may not have been uploaded before FrostByteFest 2012.

(also you've already made me happy by increasing the sales counter by one anyways big_smile)

"This album is a sensory experience, if you close your eyes you feel yourself moving. Drifting. . . There's so much feeling and emotion, one wonders how Vince Kaichan composed something that goes beyond just sound"

Get it here!

1 Northern Lights
2 Summit
3 Binary Lake
4 Floating on Thin Air

On Thin Air is a 4-track EP that engages the senses with lush tones and dense harmonies. These tracks happened only because Vince Kaichan was stupid enough to crack his Gameboy screen, rendering him sans-DMG for four weeks.

All songs written by Vincent Chang with SunVox v1.6.4, Tweakybeat for iPhone, and a Korg Monotron.
Mastered by Spöka.
Album art by Frostbyte.
Released on Hemligkaka.

I worked really hard on this release. Please go check it out!

(Thanks for the quote, Auxcide!)

Am I still going to have time to sit and write on my gameboy?.

Moreover, is your Gameboy still gonna work in 15 years? Never know.

I enjoyed reading this very much.
