Made this nice lil guy a few months back.
Clearboy with a white backlight painted on the inside with spazstix holographic glitter and black spraypaint.
Couldn't get a very good picture of it powered on. The backlight made the glitter harder to photograph.
Pretty stoked about the way this came out, though! I'm planning on trying this again with a clear MGB.

Topic: WTS: Green/Purple backlit DMG. (0 replies, posted in Trading Post)
Yo, thought I'd drop this here in case anyone would be interested! Need to start saving some $$$ to pay back college loans, so I'm selling this lil guy. It's in great shape, except for a little damage (bite marks?? idk maybe you like battle scars.) from the previous owner, just above the screen. Kind of a shame. I didn't notice it until after I bought it, but it really doesn't look too bad now that it's been painted! Transparent purple kitsch-bent buttons, turquoise ASM screen cover, inverted purple backlight. It's sort of cool because it can be either normal or inverted polarization. At a certain point when adjusting the contrast dial, it switches from one to the other, so you can play it whichever way is easier for you to see! It's not pro-sounded, unfortunately.

Thanks for looking, dudes.

Re: How rare are different DMG (play it loud) colors (40 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
I've come across black dmgs (in person) more often than any other color, of course with the exception of gray. I've seen/bought one green and one red, but I've seen three or four black ones, of which my friend bought two. Before I was into collecting, I had seen one clear as well, and I wish I would've picked it up. I think it was like $8 and in fairly nice condition, too. still haven't seen yellow!

Yo shit man, that stuff is really legit hahaha. Do you only do stickers or do you ever do like, throw-ups or anything?
So far just stickers, but I'm working on perfecting a simple throw-up style. In other words, coming soon. Hahaha.

Thanks much, dude!! :3
Haha, not a fan of ups stickers, eh? understandable. I just use them because of the white space. That, and they seem to stay up pretty well.

Hi guys.
Not sure if anyone would be interested, but I just set up an ART BLOG!!! on tumblr. Right now it's only graffiti stickers, but pretty soon I'm going to start to include my other art.
Not too far down the road I may want to do some cover/logo/whatever art for you chipguys. I'd work for cheap; I don't really care. This is sort of just an interest check for now, because I need to replace some of my markers which have sadly been used up. :<
Anyway, thanks for looking. :3

That looks great! How much did you want for it?
Also, yeah, it's North Dakota. Haha. I probably should make that more clear.

Hey dudes! I'm forming a collection of PiL gameboys (probably not white, tho.) & I'm looking for a blue DMG; it doesn't matter if it's modded or not, as long as the case is PiL blue.
That said, I am not totally sure what they're worth, so if it's not against the rules, I'm totally open to price suggestions.
Thanks for your time, guys!

Oh, I don't mind at all! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
I used some weird variety of Krylon called "Short Cuts" that comes in a tiny can. (The name of the color is Iris) I got it at Hobby Lobby, so I think it's pretty easily attainable from most hobby-oriented stores. The buttons were done with Testors model paint.
& Oh man, purple xmetals inside + clear blue buttons would be like the ghost version of mine. That'd look extremely rad.
Haha well of if you ever need anyone to watch after her ad fill her needs I offer my services. Lol
On a serious note now I may use this color scheme on a gameboy one day because it's so beautiful. I'll probably use clear blue buttons and light them though but I'll note you as the inspiration for the color scheme if thats cool with you. I've been debating on how I would paint my next clearboy when I get my hands on another one and this is just pure awesome. What kind of paint did you use on the inside? I'm thinking about using purple xmetals which would give it the purple color but leave it still kind of see through. But then again the solid purple looks do damn good too. But yea just asking for permission to recreate your baby with my own twist. It's all about respect for me man. And hey if I have my own I dot have to sex yours up.
