No, it'll be basically the same whether you use an emulator or record direct from an emulator.

Without a drummer, it'll be tough to make the drums stand out if you're throwing guitar and bass on top.  You might have some luck lowering the volume of all your instrument volume envelopes (besides the drums) and then turning the overall mix up when you do that thing live man, try it out at practice and see how that goes

And thanks for the shoutout~

thanks man!  yeah im actually screwin around right now with the noise and wav channel figuring out drum stuff.  and honestly this is meant to have guitar and bass behind it live so the leads aren't supposed to be too complicated. think of it more as a vocal track if anything.  Thanks for the input bro!

consider checking out Revengineers, Noisewaves, Infinity Shred, Anamanaguchi, Slime Girls, and Chip's Challenge (hurf) for comparison; they do that instrumental band thing with chip/synth leads

assuming you haven't heard of any of these bands lol

The use of dynamics in the noise channel is quite nice.

Ah, I forgot to mention that.  The dynamics were really good, but what I said before about your drums still holds.

good show brahs

HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT THIS GUY MAKING A GOOD FIRST LSDJ POST

Yeah, they pointed it out already, but your kick needs more kick eh?

Personally, I like simple pulse leads brah; do what you want but there are some people who dig that simple style.  Your melodies are tight, and while your drums are kind of repetitive and simple they're programmed solid.  Try experimenting more in the noise channel to get some cooler hits, and maybe some cool drum fills next time.

Great track.

HF vibrato/pitch slides are not tied to ticks. Non-HF vibrato pitch slides are tied to ticks, which may be limiting in some instances, and useful in others because of the predictability.

Oh, really?  How is HF calculated then?

Well, I think about it like this... if LSDJ processes in ticks, a HF VIB shape would have a smooth wave over those ticks, but a spread out wave would be slowed down, yeah?

Like, if _--==--_--==--_--==--_--==--_--==--_ is HF, then _____-----------=========-----------________ is the larger sine wave over the same number of ticks, which leads to slower vibrato.

Extra shapes are just the icing on top, but they work the same way, yeah?
Like, the square is _______________================_______________ over the same number of ticks, and
the sawtooth is ___----=====_____-----=====___----=====_____-----===== over the same number of ticks.  Which is why you get different pulse sweeps and bends using different waves.  You can hear it real good on a square, the vibrato just bounces back and forth between your chosen tones.

Did that make sense?  Hm, I wonder.  Also, sorry if this was common knowledge.

killer lineup

I have a question, how much are you guys currently making releasing music for free and do you think you would you be making more if you submitted some quick loops to this guy?

Enough, and not really IMO
