Super cool. I'm also down for whatever you come up with next. Just revisited your blog for additional info too.
Also, huge props for all of the detailed info.

Nice work. For the programmer boards, please charge extra. I know you can't make any profit on these without certain people here getting there panties in a twist, but at least you could make a little from the programmer boards. Very well thought out meticulous work. Cheers.

Great thread BTW.

Look up Legendary Wings. I can also think of Dragon Strike, but you would have remembered Dragons.
You nailed it. Legendary wings it is!
Thank you, eBay here I come!

I don't know what game you are looking for, but I like your thread, so I too would like to ask others about a game I don't remember the name of.
This game was for the original NES.
This game was laid out like a 1941 where the background scrolls down and you were a person with eagle wings and you would fly through these crazy alien worlds and shoot at all these crazy enemies and you would get weapons upgrades quite often and you could blast the crap out of everything.
Anyway, I would love to hear that games soundtrack again, because I still sing it to myself all the time....
Thank you anyone.

They look great so far.
Excited to get one and to get another one to my developer.

Re: Zilog z80 Development Board *Collective Brainstorm* (20 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I think I shall start with a bare z80, rom/ram setup. Nothing special, but fully moddable. It will cost much less and can be made to do anything, even as much as the full computer I hope to make soon afterward.
I like this approach. Even a little perfboard on one side to make additional jumper/headers to solder to would be nice.
As far as the moniker, I'm a little surprised you would ask for advice. Those types of things are always so personal.
It usually will just click, anyway thanks for all of the effort.

Re: GIFT PROJECT -- the 'ziegler/polish-student' flash cart + FRAM (37 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
I know this is extremely early, but if one of the final PCB designs includes switching banks, I for one would be up for 20 PCB's for myself. I am also up for working with Eagle files and using this thread to host them. This way if a design makes more room for LED's and another doesn't, but maybe has some other feature that is desirable they all can be found in one place. That is, if it's 'ok' with you Kitsch?

Re: GIFT PROJECT -- the 'ziegler/polish-student' flash cart + FRAM (37 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
There should be room enough for another footprint, but the FRAM chip is the most expensive components on the board AFAIK!
Yeah, if there was a jumper that could let you bypass it if you wanted to, that would be necessary to keep the cost down if you didn't want it.

Re: GIFT PROJECT -- the 'ziegler/polish-student' flash cart + FRAM (37 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Any chance we could have a switch and flip between FRAM chips? If we lose the battery and reclaim the real estate, maybe we could squeeze another chip on it? Just talking out loud. Not sure if that is even possible. Maybe have it as an option on the pcb where a jumper could be soldered if someone did not want the feature. This might make it possible to have multiple LSDJ saves or another set of patches for mGB all you would need to do is switch and reboot.
On a personal note, may I commend you for all of the effort you put into your projects. You always seem to raise the bar and yet still not let it go to your head.
Very impressed.
