After you set up; stop, take a deep breath and slow your heart rate down.

For my last gig I had to rush to set up and I didn't calm down before my first song. Made a couple mistakes more on the keyboard than I'd like to in the beginning.

Another thing: if you're playing an instrument that is on a table (like a keyboard), take some time to get used to it's height. Play through some riffs of a song with the sound off or something, it definitely helps nail down the muscle memory aspect.

Good luck~<3

People are talking about webstreams trying too hard to be festivals and take the place of live shows but there's also people saying they're too weak with bedroom shows and lack of visuals. . . hmm

Also, as I've said, I have seen the majority of artists add new stuff to already existing or exclusive unreleased tracks. Artists have added guitar, drums, keyboards, effects, drum machines, live sequencing, etc.

Roboctopus DJ mixed and added live effects, Cooshinator or Dsv101 once wrote a song live, I've played my album with additional equipment not heard in the original, Frostbyte remixed his own songs live and even did 1xlsdj versions, the list goes on and on with stuff you'll never find on their bandcamp pages. I mean, I'd pay to watch Cheapshot do more dancing while avoiding waking up his baby or praying to the chipgods that his battery doesn't die. big_smile

Edit: and I know, visually, I have lots of hang ups with technical issues, but people say they don't even mind because of the audio. wink

I'm curious, how many people replying have seen our monthly Clipstream webshow?

It's gotten some big names and a lot of consistent views and followers. A lot of the suggestions that have been addressed in this thread have already been implemented. (Like more visual and performance oriented artists, intermissions, smooth transitions, etc.)

I believe every artist adds something to their songs live that you don't get from a recording online.

If streaming's not for you, than it's not for you. But it is gaining in frequency and people are definitely stepping it up.

Edit: oh and this is coming from somebody who's done like 5, if that matters.

While there is no real scene here in Sacramento yet, I'm always up for playing shows.

Just in time for a show next weekend, I finished the work on my microkorg:

I've always really liked the text on synthesizers, so I kept the original color as part of the theme.

Edit: gonna paint or get new knobs soon too.

I never understood why this thread was in "Nintendo Handhelds".

Little paint job I did on my korg mini kaoss pad while I'm waiting for my microkorg to dry:

My cute little mini live setup.

• Play It Loud! DMG (RCA prosound)
• Korg KP3
• microKorg
• Fostex MN-50 (Battery-powered mixer/compressor I found in a closet, somewhere.)
• Tortoiseshell cat

Been meaning to paint my microkorg like that. It's sooo beautiful. Did you do it yourself? Any tips?
