Was that an answer to my question or something else?

[edit] Ah no, it wasn't, or not exactly... But since no one else's answering I guess this has been abandoned and everyone is looking elsewhere now?

Has there ever been any results with getting MIDI out of this device? I'd quite like to get back into pigging which I haven't really done since I lost my dingoo. I've tried using it on my vita, but it just doesn't feel the same. And I'm always scared to bring the vita on stage because somehow it feels to precious for this environment. And too big and clunky and stuff.
Bla.
MIDI MIDI?

Hey, anyone in London interested in 2 Boxes of Game boy parts? Shells, PCB's, plus some new screen protectors and battery doors.
Not everything working, but if you're modding for sale it might be a welcome opportunity to get lots of spare parts.

If you're interested, send me a pm, pick them up around Elephant&Castle either this week or the next one and give me whatever you think is appropriate.

Made a second video. This time a bit more didactic... smile

edit: realised the video was slightly fckd up, so I put up the right version before the hitcount got too high...

Yeah, those are amazing. I think someone directed me to this before because of my square holes. Problem is just: they're really expensive and don't quite come in the sizes I need.

Besides, I am actually quite proud of how accurate I got over time with making these holes with a dremel. It's just a big problem with silver-coated instruments. They are very unforgiving...

Edited for stupid typos and afterthoughts.

Woohoo, flamewar!

Lovely.

How exactly did I respond with bad attitude? I just explained how I came up with the price. With a bit of sarcasm. I must say I can't really see how that makes me less of a man.

If what I'm doing in the video looks and sounds random to you, fair enough. It actually wasn't the best setting for showing all the possibilities including the touchpad, which doesn't work that well with the bends in all the programs. I noticed that later, too and I'm a bit annoyed by that myself. The problem is that I had to give the camera back to the person I borrowed it from and then that was all I had. Thanks for pointing it out, though. I quite appreciate being shown flaws in the presentation. Maybe I'm gonna do another one...

Then again, I've finished it about three weeks ago. That's not very much time to learn to play an instrument properly. Also, this is mostly how I make music, but whatever generic glitchery you or I might or might not consider musical is probably a whole different discussion. big_smile

Cheers mate. Glad to hear it's still doing its job.

You got it at an absolute bargain price, too. Man, was I annoyed. But yeah, running a very specific auction to end a day before christmas and expecting it to do well was kind of stupid... smile After that, I completely lost interest in modding Gameboys for money.

Well, yeah, I know this discussion.

I'm sorry you see it that way.
I guess I forgot that we still live in a world where pretty much nobody gets paid for playing their music, because musicians are actually fun while doing their job, and electronics are dirt cheap because they involve no craft... Oh, wait a minute, they're still assembled by humans... who don't get any proper pay.

Think about the hours of work I put into it, considering it's pretty much my day job. I've done this for a while and have a lot of experience with circuit bending. What do you think I am supposed to sell an unique (as in: exists only once on the planet) instrument for that took me about a weeks' worth of work and is a result of 12 years of learning a craft?
It's not exactly your run of the mill I-took-out-the-speaker-and-put-an-ANALOGUE-patchbay-in-there ***L@@K ONE OF A KIND uniqe Casio SK-1 NOISE SYNTH L@@K***.

If you don't like the price and want something like this, go and build your own... smile

Hey everyone,

So I've circuit bent this Kaoss Pad for sale and actually it kind of feels a bit sad to let it go, because it's just so much fun to play and it was quite a bit of work. Still, right now I rather need the money than another brilliant instrument. I thought some of you might be interested in this. It is a very intuitive piece of gear and I can imagine it going along well with lots of different music genres I have personally tested it with rock/blues Jamming with my housemates, chiptune livegigs, noise shows, ambient/shogaze gigs, electronica DJ sets and alone in my room processing whatever instrument I had around.

Here's a short demo video showcasing a few of the new possibilities you get with the bends I've built in:

I put it up on ebay here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warstware-cir … 185935415?

If anyone of you would like to buy it and prefers to not go over ebay, please send me a pm and we can discuss it.

For more informations on my instruments, please visit http://www.warstware.der-warst.de.

Of course, if you have any questions about it, please let me know.

All the best,
Simon Warst

Grr. I so hate the fact I'm in Germany right now.

Well, actually I don't. I'm just very annoyed that I'll miss this.
