I've always looked at the clear ones as being the most classy, especially if they're painted on the inside giving it the exoskeleton look. That's all just personal opinion tho. If you're stuck between clear and black, you could always do a combo.

Haven't posted in a while, but here's some of the stuff I've been working on recently:

MidiBoy V2 DMG
Internal ArduinoBoy, RCA & 1/8" Prosound, Variable Clock, White Backlight, White Lens and Buttons, Fresh Capacitors, Black/White Kitsch Bent shell combo

Le Super Saiyen DMG (Gift for a fellow DBZ enthusiast in France)
Translucent Orange Repro Shell, Orange Lens, Translucent Orange NES Buttons, and Custom Dragon Ball Decals

....and then there's this,

The Franken-NES. I'll post a thread detailing this project soon.

FINALLY. Thank you so much for making this!

So you need 10 people to invest ~$400? How much time would you estimate before you must make a decision on the order, and how many spots are still open? I would love to get in on this since I absolutely love your density backlights, but considering that it's the holiday season, I'll be low on funds for a bit.

@tylerbarnes I'll take your word for it, I don't have much rom dumping experience. Locked chips and all that is way over my head, but you say it's been done before? Done, or only attempted? If someone has successfully dumped the files previously and they are hosted somewhere, could they be edited and compiled into an unlocked, flasher-friendly file?

So I've actually been very interested in reverse engineering the MidiNES. I was thinking of pulling the rom file from my cartridge using a Kazzo NES Dumper, putting together a bill of materials w/ assembly instructions, then releasing all of it to the public. I don't have the time or lack of morals to sell repros.

All Gameboys, no filler.

These look extremely nice! Reminds me of the pure silver and gold button sets that some dude was trying to sell here years ago, except these buttons are actually practical and reasonably priced. I'm definitely interested in buying some of these!

Haven't completed any GB projects recently, but I made these two late last year,

Red DMG - Nothing special, just backlight & internal prosound with simple aesthetic stuff, but I loved how clean it turned out. Sold it to someone here I think.

Custom Commissioned Octatrack Midi Boy - Lengthy custom build for a dude in the UK. He wanted to use it specifically with an Octatrack and wanted the colors to match.
Black Kitsch Shell, White ASM Retro Density Backlight, 1/4" & 1/8" Prosound (OG Headphone PCB removed), ThursdayCustoms Hex-DMG mod, White Buttons, Black Screen Cover, Speaker Intact, and the icing on the cake, Internal ArduinoBoy w/ standard Midi Jacks.

The SGB and Red DMG have been claimed.

Added a refurbished Red DMG w/ Green Backlight, and reduced the price for the SGB.

SGB is still for sale. Lowered price down to $100 +shipping, also accepting offers.

It's got 1/8", 1/4", and RCA Stereo ProSound Outputs, Variable Clock Control, and a DMG Link Port.

Modded SGB for sale.

I could do $30 shipped, or I'd be willing to trade for a stock GB

I've got the majority of the parts for a few kits but I'm out of red LEDs and link cables. If you can supply your own status LED and link cable I can hook you up with everything else.
