Is that screen connected to the NES? If so, what screen is that? I've been wanting to get a small screen for my NES but haven't started researching which one to get or how to connect it.

It's just a cheap reversing monitor for automotive use. They're dirt cheap on eBay or at local surplus shops and it's wired internally so it takes power and video from the inside of the NES.

The Game Boy link cables don't have all 6 potential pins wired. Most only have 4 wired; ground, clock and the two data lines. More rarely, some cables have a 5th wire that connects to the Game Boy's 5v pin.

The keyboard needs power to operate and if you want to have the Game Boy power the keyboard, you'll need to find a cable that has that 5th pin wired or you'll need to modify one of the 4 wire cables by opening the shell around the pins and moving the wire connected to the data-out that you won't use to the 5v pin.

The other option, while perhaps less than ideal, is to wire a battery clip or external power supply to the pins for ground and 5v. In my experience most keyboards are totally happy running at 6v, so a battery clip with two A-type batteries of any size would work, but your mileage may vary.

would it be possible to power the keyboard separately, using some sort of battery contraption?

Read the third paragraph that you just quoted! ;p

What types of IDE solutions can be mounted inside an A500? I just need to run  ProTracker V2.3d and access my modules. I always felt that a larger IDE solution was overkill but I'm open to other opinions.

I'd love to eventually get a June Bug and replace the HDD with a CF solution, but it seems that it's rare for people to sell A600s where I'm from and shipping from overseas is costly.

why do people still use floppies on amiga? is it strictly for games or demos? i removed the floppy from my 600 ages ago and replaced it with a terminator... http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/cat … cts_id=832

I don't want to use floppies, I want to use a USB drive. Hence this thread.

EDIT: Let me add that I use my Amiga for live performances and bringing an external device is a hassle and that I'm aiming to move all of my performance devices away from any form of mechanical storage.

You can install the HxC firmware on a Cortex device now.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I've got a Gotex floppy emulator and I want to know whether to flash it with Cortex or HxC.

I know that HxC boasts support for a wider variety of computers but, assuming I'm installing a Gotek floppy emulator in an Amiga 500, is there any difference between Cortex and HxC?

Added a little monitor to my NES and C64, no more lugging a TV around with me!

As usual, you kids all need to listen to this!

You don't need a credit card to use Paypal, though.

Plenty of places support Paypal but I'm not sure about bitcoin. You'd probably have to contact the retailers directly to see if one would be able to accept it.

you can message elijah afonso on facebook.

Cool, thanks. I shot him a message although I'm worried it'll end up in the facebook "other inbox" and never be seen. hmm

Everyone knows that xylo is just being modest, Xyce tunes have been consistently amongst the best for quite some time.

Or rather, whomever controls their Bandcamp? I notice that an album of mine that they had initially posted was distributed on Bandcamp but it's supposed to be a free album and I never gave commercial rights to anyone. I'm sure it's just an accident but since there's no contact details on their website I wanted to see if anyone knew who it was that would be able to fix it. Bandcamp itself only allows me to take direct legal action and I'm sure it'll be easier to solve if I just ask politely for it to be taken down.

Edit: Btw, I tried sending a message through Bandcamp but it seems something is wrong with the recipient email address or something as it never works.
