You're not controlling it with a vintage processor.

About 'time'.  ;3

The older Toshiba Satellite series work great, too. I've got a 430 CDS that does module and OPL3 perfectly. It's even powerful enough to run goattracker (the playback is fine, but the UI is a just a tad laggy).

I was thinking about abstract categories. Your implication is false, there are objects which aren't random but without period neither, see for example geometric progression. But there is no random object with period. You have to notice/assume something more to put an equivalence to these statements. Perhaps you was talking about common general rule, where I could agree.

Computer's inability to be random you have stated isn't an immanent property.

Greetings.

That's all semantics, the sentence is correct either way. Get over it. :3

You wanted to say: there is a repeating cycle, therefore white noise on a computer is never truly random? smile

Well, no. The repeating cycle is an effect of the computer's inability to be random. Not the other way around. The root cause is the PRNG. Since computers are deterministic, they can't simply "be random". There are various tricks used to get random-ish numbers, though. However, the gameboy (and all z80 devices) has a very poor PRNG, indeed. It's not bad because it repeats, it repeats because it's bad.

(I think what you wanted to say was: Really, the sentence works either way.)

It's just very high frequency sudo white noise. White noise on a computer is never truly random, therefor there is a repeating cycle. At very high frequencies these repeating cycles form tonal sounds.

I'd love to grab the .aep if you eventually put it up. I can also help out with rendering stuff out if needed. You appear to be fro the GTA so if you ever wanted to meet up and discuss the future of the channel I'm more than happy to do so.

Hello!

I just loaded this on my CoCo2. Loaded up fine, but when I ran it I got a "?bs error in 110" message. Bad subscript I guess. Any thoughts? Might be an easy fix, I haven't really got in there to mess around with code yet.

Seems like a cool little program though. Thanks for posting it.

I'll take a look when I get home. It might be a difference between the CoCo2 and the MC-10. Can you do me a favour and load the software and then run the command:

LIST 110

Just to make sure the line is not somehow loading incorrectly.

There's also this:

It's a relatively different layout but has some neat synthesis capabilities in addition to just MIDI.

Ha ha! Just noticed that CM.org has "all rights reserved" option. Technically that means any user who selects that can sue CM.org for distributing their music as it doesn't appear to grant CM.org any sort of non-exclusive distribution rights.

Didn't 8bc use a CC license for everything uploaded? If that's the case, as long as attribution is maintained we don't need anyone's express permission.

DOME18 has just about the best case I've ever seen. I really hope some photos of it show up, it's impressive beyond belief.

EDIT: This image doesn't get across the beauty if the thing - it's all beautifully stained a dark red and with brass fitting and most of the exposed gear is painted a nice rich red - but you can see a bit of how cool it is.

The hardware is all fitted and sealed in with silicon. The inside is the really impressive part, The wiring is really well done and the inside features a little, detachable light. Basically it contains everything you could ever imagine needing with a setup like this. Super cool. Hopefully a picture (or video) surfaces of the inside of this amazing box.

What OS are you running? If you installed Java correctly you should be able to simply double-click the java application and it'll open a GUI screen to select a file to load/save.

Since you're manually switching frames, there's no real rules on the order or placement of the frames. You're manually addressing them every time you want to switch to one.

I still go down the toy isle, nothing to feel guilty about. Toys are fun.
