but when the chip act came on it was just a one gameboy setup with no effects and the guy was jumping around hyping his stuff way too much for what it was. He basically cleared the floor instantly.
It kind of gave the impression that the chip guy was conceited in the way that he came across as if he was saying "pfft! look at you with all your fancy schmancy modern equipment and complex sound design techniques...I dont need any of that because my mind is so powerful all I need is a gameboy to rock a live set better than any other type of electronic music producer".

Sounds like what I do but I don't do it for the "Yo I'm better than you I'm a gameboy kid" I do it because this is how I like doing my shitty gigs ! wink
I have totally what I called the chipmusician syndrome...I will always think my stuff is uber shit even if people will say that this or this song of mine are good.

@xyno. SIX YEARS? Dammit sad I looked around the interweb and there's a couple SC1224 for sale, mostly packaged with an ST, but they cost a fucking arm and a leg. I hate myself now because I threw an SC1224 out in the trash a few years ago when my old ST died just a week after getting it. I would totally take you up on the mouse offer though! And if you have too many SM124's laying about, I could buy one off of you if you're not using them. That would at least get me up and running to see if the computer works properly and check if the disk drive is still good and all that jazz before I start investing in replacing the TOS chips and getting an SD card drive and all that jazz.

It is because it cost an arm and a leg that I didn't bought one until I had the chance to bought a mega st (without the cord for the keyboard sad )and I got it with it !
I will test my SM124s and I will throw you the best one for sure !
For the mouse and the screen I will just ask you something like 20$ + the money for my bus (another 20) because I will not try to ship that (kinda heavy !)
You're cool with that ? I can throw you disks with Musicmon 1.0 and XLR8 if you want so you will be able to do some stuffs with your ST (no sid, buzz, digis in musicmon 1.0, pure YM)

It's a little bit hard to get a Low/Med res monitor in Quebec (took me something like 6 years to get my hands on a SC1224 when I have 2-3 unused SM124 in my attic)
Sucks only Musicmon 1.0 and XLR8 works on Hi-Res because these monitors are neat !
I think I have 1 mouse that I don't use somewhere in my boxes ! I will totally give it to you next time I will go to Montreal (when I will find it ! tongue )

if you're not using floppies but sd cards or usb sticks, it could be some rare bugs in maxYMiser, for example with a specific instrument or some settings in your songs which may interfere with the saving process.

I have 2 ultrasatan and I never had these save problems on MaxYMiser !

Ok thanks, so there is no way for me to open up .sndh in a tracker to see how they were made?

Download the short filename archive and you will be able to load .SND files that we're made in MaxYMiser. You will be able to check out Ultrasyd's tracks, a lot of 505, gwEm, Timbral, Divag, some Dubmood, DMA-SC, etc.
These files will surely help you to learn some fx command and instruments sequences. Like opening a mod in protracker (well...obviously ! XD)

Hi >.< I am "re- hijacking" this thread tongue sorry! Thanks to you guys I am now up and running making music on Maxymiser, but it doesn't seem to want to load any .sndhs.

It will load .sndhs that I myself have saved, and it will load all other .snds but sndhs that I download off archives etc, it just says disk op failed (file).

The SNDH files are .SND on STs because you can only have 3 characters after the dot!
As you can see on the download page of the SNDH archive
http://sndh.atari.org/download.php
There is a long filename and a short filename archives, use the short files for the Atari (the files name are 8 characters long + 3 characters format) and use the long filename if you use player like Jamplayer (it will play .sndh but not .snd !)

Really nice feature ! Seriously can't wait to try this tracker !!!

MusicMon is very good, but I don't know why they use a so awkward pattern list, you can only see one at a time sad

Everything in this world have their Pros and Cons...
Musicmon is by far one of my favorite tracker but there is 2 things on it that I don't really like
1.Patterns are in decimals...I want some Hex dammit
2.No command collumn...so you need to create a new instrument everytime you want something like a pitch bend or something...
...but goddamn I LOVE the Sound Editor !

Pink of Abyss on Chipmusic.org !!! yikes Awesome !!!
Serously can't wait to try this new tracker, the interface looks neat ! Loved AHX but I had to sell my amiga...(dark part of my life last year...had to pay the appartment and bills... sad )
Is there a way to see what the sound editor will look like ? (like a screenshot or something...) smile

Revive the Sabrepulse chipbrk 08' style !
