If it's written on a chip that's running at 8 bits (or fewer), you can call it chip music in the same way that if a piece is written for piano, you call it piano music.

I say 8 bits or fewer because by the time you get past that you enter the world of vintage music tech like old drum machines and stuff... Kit that's actually been designed for the production of studio-quality music.

Problem I had with the Pocket is that it didn't supply enough power to the EMS cart that I use, had all kinds of weird screen-dimming and audio dropouts and fun, dmg doesn't have a problem with it though. Just something to consider if you're using an EMS flash cart.
