The High res mode should work with a VGA monitor and a adaptor cable ( on ebay) is the easiest. For med/color res on a VGA Monitor, you will need a scan converter and the hitch is the ST's scan rate is odd ball. There are threads over at AtariAge that you should look into. There is also a project over there by Kjmann for a component video adaptor that may interest you.
To move progs from PC to ST and back you will want to either have a floppy drive in you PC or a SD card hard drive emu like Ultrasatan. Lotharek has some options you may want to see, http://www.lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=90
For a stereo mod I remember seeing a thread on Atariage, but one problem with separating the AY channels is play back of some music that relies on the mono output; doesn't sound right on stereo. Some say it's really bad with digi samples. But the basic mod seems easy to do, look for the one with a mono/stereo switch.
Dont forget to DL MaxYMiser http://www.preromanbritain.com/maxymiser/
Good luck and have fun,

Re: Sears Talking Computron Hacking (1 replies, posted in Other Vintage Computers & Consoles)
There was a thread here awhile back on this little device, searching the forum should help. If I recall the speech is produced like the TI S&S; based on a TI chip. A compressed sample stream/DSP sort of thing. There was a tool on the webs for converting wav to the TI LPC format but it was for the eariler TI chips.
The Compuntron would be fun but it's a little rare so hasn't been hacked much, at least as far as I can tell. So yea, if you make headway, please do post about it!

Re: Pulsar!! PR8!! INL's flash SXROM cart and Kazzo based cart dumper (100 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
Hummm Just to be clear, sounds like you are having problems switching .sav files in Nestopia?
Last night I was testing Nestopia and moving/renaming .sav files. So I had a BLANKpr8.sav and a TESTpr8.sav in the Save folder. I was alternating renaming these to pr8.sav and re starting the EMU. If I just 'power off' the EMU machine and renamed the 'TEST' to pr8.sav; restarting the machine did not reflect the new .sav and then closing Nestopia would over write the new 'TEST' pr8.sav with the 'BLANK'
The only sure way was to have another folder to manage BLANK and TEST. Delete or save somewhere any pr8.sav in the Nestopia Save folder. Move one of the .sav files into the Nestopia Save folder, rename to pr8.sav and then start up Nestopia/PR8.
Seems Nestopia only accesses the .sav on open and close and not when starting and stopping the EMU machine.
Not sure if the above is what you are having trouble with, I'll mess with the INL cart today and let you know what I find

Re: Pulsar!! PR8!! INL's flash SXROM cart and Kazzo based cart dumper (100 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
Hi, what are you having trouble with?
I had posted a modded script for the original Kazzo software; have to use the original Anago CLI sortware, not INL's GUI. I had to edit the original SNROM script (renamed mmc1_sxrom.ag. lrt me know if you needed it). so the dumped save file would work in Nestopia. The order of the 8K blocks was different then the Nestopia save layout.
From CMD line:
CD into your \anago\ DIR
then run:
>anago.exe r4 mmc1_sxrom.ag myDumpFile.sav
the output file "myDumpFile.sav" should be created in the anago folder. This should be renamed to "PR8.sav" and moved to Nestopia's Save folder. Then open PR8 and the settings should be there.
To move a save FROM Nestopia:
The CMD line should be
>anago.exe w4 mmc1_sxrom.ag myNewFile.sav
Using your file's name in place of "myNewFile.sav"
Let me know if this works :-)

I was a fund supporter and I got mine in a while ago, but to be honest I have not fired it up yet.
I plan to finally check out SID Wizard and MIDI capable Cynthcart will be fun!
Yes, looking forward to see the changes and handling of Cynthcart I went ahead and ordered it, hoping it won't take too long to get here

Any hands on reviews? Would like to hear how people like it.
Kick starter is done, and it's open for regular sales now, but no indications of the shipping lead time.

Oh yeah, always dreamt about synth with ym2612 inside (because it sounds great).
Regarding Sammich for FM you should see this, but it uses OPL3.
I can't make promises but I've been working on a port of Sauraen's MBFM v2 STM32 synth for a Sega like YM/PSG synth. I hanen't started a new topic yet but for a little info:

ntry169527
Code wise I've port 90% of the driver modules, so will be testing it on HW soon. Then it's on to the main synth engine code and midi handler.

This work with NROM boards?
Yes, NROM-256 should be fine
@bitjacker the DL should have glitch02.nes size of 41K. If it doesn't, try downloading again, the link is good as of a few mins ago.

Let me get this straight: Someone based in Denver is producing these and selling them on ebay. DSC is suspected, but not confirmed. He has not defended himself against the allegations. At the same time, yogi discovered that the full source for basically everything was posted online as part of littlescale's master's thesis, so now presumably anyone could make one of these with little to no effort involved.
Excuse me while I go throw up. This is disgusting.
yes, thats the short story. The seller in Denver may be legit, who know. It is possibly he had bought 10+ from the first run. (unlikely but...)
The elements to re-create the interface are on the web 'for all to see'.I for one view the situation as a twist on the fair use of ROM dumps by a cart owner, only that the pre ordered cart/hardware was never delivered.
The subject of a community project would be a banned topic, but if your soldering iron kung-fu is strong there's nothing to stop you.
Perhaps a general purpose Teensy carrier board with a midi socket; useful for all manner of projects? Or is this banned, I don't know.
