Haha nice smile

Hello everyone.
I would just like to point out that this thread was posted as a warning only. A warning to those that it has not yet affected. This was never meant to be a witch hunt. It certainly isn't about finding the culprit or getting justice.
Chipmusic.org simply seemed to be the best place to get the attention of those that we may not have considered as possible victims.
Anyone with a website that could possibly be harmed by this issue should purchase other common extensions such as .net, .org, .co, etc.

Are you saying someone purchased "kitschbent.com" or "kitsch-bent.com". Notice the "-" difference.

the one without the dash was bought by someone else

Thanks for the clarification.

i checked out a couple/few of the ones you mentioned in this thread after the redirect stop...

i got a 503 error, a parked website page, and a 'website coming soon' page

so i think the redirect thing worked (because my exceptions seem to be working fine).

hope that helps!

if you figure out who purchased kitschbent.com, i'd love to know!

I'd kind of be interested in making up some PCB's that are as short as possible (maybe even designed to be left in the console). They would just have the edge connector and eprom socket. Would there be any interest in that?

Definitely interested in this. Let me know!

I'm all for DIY but just wanted to make sure everyone knows plenty of these are available (other colors as well): http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Commodore-6 … 25a5ff8acf

I have one and quality is pretty nice, good texture and feels solid.

This is awesome too. Just ordered three of them. Thanks!

There's a kit for that:

The LCD was proprietary. It's very unique. So no, there is no other compatible LCD for the DMG. Not yet anyway wink

It's pretty easy actually. You just need to slide the rubber housing back, slide the metal shielding back(it will have some kind of clip you will need to shave down), then just move the pins around. They will have some kind of tab holding it in but you can bend it a little to push it out. Then I just use one drop of glue on the plastic housing so that the metal shield stays tight.

MOST generic link cables have all 6-7 wires for the CGB/MGB side but not the DMG side. The ones that have DMG and CGB/MGB on plugs on both sides.

Also you can modify ANY link cable to have all the wires you need. You can either move the pin from pin 2 to pin 3 or if the cable base a shielding connection then you can use that as standard ground(exact same signal) and move the ground pin(pin 6) to pin 1(5v).

I'll throw this here if it helps at all:

I've had this on my website for awhile so I figured I would share it. Seems to cover most basic questions:

This is a great thread. I'm starting to use this forum as much more of a resource as I start to explore less common mods. More info on the shortening of the power PCB would be much appreciated. When you said you move it to the upper right of the rear shell, is that when viewed from the front?

Yeah man a lot of good stuff here. I meant the PS2 socket in the top right. Opposite side of the power switch. Just move the capacitor that's in the way to another spot.

Got that new KB screen steeze:

They're not the same mold as ASM's. I bought the yellow and black ones. They seem really legit though. Even has the exact same stamped text on the back.
