I'm going to have to try these. Long decay chords sound terrible when you release them. I always roll my fingers off and leave the lowest note to trail off.

I dig it!

You can just open the images in a new tab and then go to the album. You can still view them on photobucket.

If new capacitors don't fix it then you will need to replace the entire regulator board. They're old and worn out.

I have actually thought of doing this. The main problem is that I have not been able to find a 470uf capacitor as small as I would like. Could only find size D or E. Kitsch has this now though: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/gbamp

I am going to look into this. The problem should be fixable.

I need three new carts so I'm very interested in the outcome.

I'll have to try the extra cap on the voltage rail to see if it gets rid of the horrible buzz.

It works wonders. Kills almost all of the hum. Even to the headphone jack.

I just finished mine.
I cut a slot in the LCD PCB above the ribbon cable to slide the ribbon cable through the PCB to make room for the MGB ribbon connector. I scraped off some of the solder mask and soldered the MGB ribbon connector on to the DMG LCD board using the ground tabs of the connector.

I then strategically placed the wire along the board and glued it in place. At this point this board is no more difficult to install than a regular DMG LCD.

The best part is that I can replace this cancerous LCD with a new one just as easily as I could replace the LCD in an MGB.

And a Hand Held Legend panel fits with no problem.

Thanks for the detailed pin out! It really made this modification a breeze.

This is pretty great. I've been wanting to do this for a long time.

Are you still thinking of making a version of mGB with selectable MIDI channels? This would be most handy I think!

It also helps to guide the cartridge into the cartridge connector. A cartridge slops around without the shield.

Finally managed to make my first Arduinoboy. Nothing fancy, pure functionality. It's based on original schematic but has nitro's fix.

I'm pretty happy with it I have to say smile Little write up about the project is on my blog:  http://friendofmegaman.wordpress.com/20 … rduinoboy/

That pretty big but it does look really nice! I like your breakout connector. You could add a lot to that like midi in/out/through and link cable if you wanted to have other options on the fly.

Edit:
Read through and see you have a link port break out for it. Nice!

I like both of the Swamp Toxin cases, but the one above is really great.

It's still available! It has everything you need except the LCD board and the back board.

This is very relevant to my interests(job). When the Loca cures does it actually glue the frontlight to the LCD or would it just pull right up? I'm very fond of the SP method(except for the fact that I'm using an SP) because I install them horizontally after I cut the panels and it always looks great. It's difficult to see from the pictures but do you think this would be better than a top notch SP frontlight install?

Looks great! I'll get a link to this thread on my shop and let Kitsch know too. Thanks a lot!
