Thank you so much for posting all of your findings. This should probably become a "Logic users support page"! lol
If you could, copy all your posts that have relevant information and post them in the first post. Maybe even get an admin to change the topic title to some thing like "Arduino/USB Boy + Logic support". This could be very helpful to many!

If you don't mind I would edit your first post to something like this:

"The USB-Boy simply does not work with Apple Logic. Thursday Customs is working on a solution but there is none in the immediate future.
Your best bet is to use any kind of Arduino Boy with a MIDI/USB adapter cable/interface.

And then copy all your posts with technical information. I'm not trying to hijack your thread here I just think a lot of people could benefit from this if it were labeled and organized.

Thanks again!

17 bucks. Can't go wrong. smile

I use this in my live setup. It's actually pretty cool. I built my self a VERY stripped down version of an Arduino Boy "locked" in mGB mode for it. Maybe I'll get a picture because I also added a "shelf" to the keyboard to velcro my Game Boy onto.

My ONLY complaint is that you can't change the MIDI output channel on the keyboard so it's always set to pulse channel 1 when I would much rather be playing an the wave channel for bass lines.

I'll sell you a blank board for like $4, or maybe a complete if you can convince me to order more parts:

That is beautiful! I've been wanting to build a more economical version like this.

This is what's inside the NES Style Arduino Boy now which is a good start on making a small kit I think:

Hello!
I do apologize about the price. They take a really long time to build into a NES controller. This is why we came up with the USB-Boy.
Unfortunately we're totally swamped on orders so you can expect to wait about 45 days if you do decide to order a NES Style Arduino Boy from us.
As far as using it for MIDI out goes Max Dolensky is the master of this. He's incredibly knowledgable about all of the little tricks for Arduino Boys and USB-Boys.

It'll work just fine. Any Game Boy Pocket/Color link cable will work.

Simple and smart. I may do this at some point.

Ahh! I was wondering why you were using such large perf board. Nice!

Nope. It's only purpose(so far) is putting a Game Boy Advance SP in a DMG case. Which is very next on my commission waiting list and I'm VERY excited to get back to building it!

and slightly amusing how long the LCD screens themselves have been ready (over a year, yikes!)

It really isn't. :'( been patiently waiting since I learned of these two years ago.

I truly don't understand why no one has bought this. I could easily buy it now and sell it for double. But then I would be jerk wink

That PCB will not work. It has entirely different tracing. You would be better off using a stock DMG LCD PCB. It would be far easier to install and wire up.

If you just want a regular bi-version without the switch I would recommend the standard Hex kit: http://thursdaycustoms.bigcartel.com/pr … x-board-v1

Without having one in my possession I believe you would solder to the negative side of the two electrolytic capacitors on the bottom left of this picture:
