That seems like a waste of both.
Mixing depressants and stimulants, what could possibly go wrong!

How many of us started on mario paint?
Thanks guys. That's kind of my mindset too. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going off with my own opinion too much. This is a sort of fusion album, it is raw chip sounds backed with some synth pads and live/sampled drums.
Hello.
I mostly do video game OSTs that aren't meant to be listened to without being mixed with sound effects and voices and explosions, I usually mix stuff at around -16, -17 Integrated LUFS (average across track).
However, two recent chiptune OSTs I did are good enough that I think they merit a public release. -16 LUFS leaves a lot of headroom in comparison to other albums. I did a early mix at -10.5 Integrated LUFS with about 4.5 loudness range. But my orchestral-minded colleague insists its FAR too loud (take into account orchestra tracks are usually like -27).
Anyone have any insights of what is normal? I'm running some recent albums through Nugen VisLM to see what is normal, seems like -10 or -9 is normal, leaving very little or no headroom.
I'm guessing I'm not the only one who associates drinking surge with playing marathon sessions of Super NES and Genesis. The customer questions and reviews are hilarious too.
"My wife told me that she would leave me if I spent our retirement fund on Surge. Silly wife, how else did you think I was going to fit 3 pallets of Surge in our bedroom?!"
I'm super excited about this. Had to get the actual cart.
I seem to remember them being super picky too. I think I made like 10 different crate sounds. SFX are so boring compared to music. Thats why I charge an arm and a leg for them
It's always good to save your "sketches" or even rejected songs, you never know when they'll be a perfect fit for something down the line.
Small world, I did the sound effects and voice work on Cave Crew. When he came to me you'd already done the music...I always wondered who did it. It's really a nice piece. You did a great job. (my review of it)
Where can I find Starscream's stuff? starscream.bandcamp just directs to infinity shred, but i know I've heard other starscream stuff, on pandora of all places...
..its all kind of sad really, but man those animated icons for the games are disturbing, and the first person shooter...<shudders> ...this guy is the Henry Darger of programmers...
Kind of freaked out by this...it's too complex to be a joke. Like the programming equivalent of outsider art.
pm'd
It is tough...maybe it's just because its an unbalanced demo...
Don't think anyone's mentioned this but there's also a YM2151 emulator/music suite for iPad. I don't have an iPad so I don't know how easy it is to use, but some sick shit has been played off it. YM2151 was used in a lot of arcade music and I believe the Sharp X68000?
Not exactly sure what dump mode is. Probably just song data played back, but there is a sequencer for the app.

This is super hard to use. I tried for a few hours and could barely get one measure of ok sounding stuff.
