theres not many chiptune ```setups''' that are any good for improvisation so i think that would be a cool niche that you could target instead of just making some box you plug a midi cable into and then it goes bloop

This, it also has to have loads of twisty things and buttons and possibly lights

The more you post, the further you seem to be sinking into depression, I've been looking into stuff in older threads here, and your posts from like 2011 and before are pretty normal.

As for changes in chip, there have been some, and ofc Nullsleep is always still a thing

I was going to bump this thread a week or so ago, I've been checking on the site every few weeks, and the modules haven't been put up for voting yet, so idk

can't wait for my small crate of music to arrive!

actually  I amend my previous choice to either hunting or slam dunk lifestyle by knife city

Victim blaming is never the right thing to do imo, I hope that you're as fine as someone can be in a situation like this, and that you can be happy about the fact that the scum is going to die slowly behind bars. It makes me feel a little uncomfortable knowing that people like him exist, but now that he's been exposed, that's one less person like him that can interact with other people.

wasn't there some crash in a country around that part of the world where bread cost like a billion of that country's dollars?

I'm only really aware of pyramid schemes existing through American television, I don't really think that anyone in the chipscene is enough of an eejit to get involved in one, or to start one and think that they could get away with it

I asked 9-Heart about it a month ago, he's been having some personal stuff that he has to deal with at the moment. It's still going to happen, just later in this year.

Mmm, figured that might have been the problem, seeing as it was getting dimmer with time. Just seems to be happening much quicker than I'd like...which I guess I should expect with the backlight using up extra battery power.

Thanks for the clarification, though!

invest in rechargable batteries bruh!

You aren't building on it if you're covering it, you seem to be saying that because someone releases a song, they should be able to make money off of other people using their work. I put out all of my stuff under a license that allows people to build on it, but non-commercially. I am 100% happy with people remixing or re-interpreting my work in their own way. What I am not cool with is people using something that was originally mine in any form for their own financial gain. Artists are under no obligation to allow others to let other people play their work, let alone play it and make money out of doing so. I like that the chipscene as a whole is pretty open about sharing stuff, .lsdsng songs, or .ftms or whatever, but you don't have bands give out chord sheets with their music, if you're luck then you get lyrics.
By the same token would you be fine with what qb said, if you were to put effort into a song, only to have someone remix it, and make millions of X currency off of something that is mostly your own work? I would feel cheated. If someone was going to do that, I'd like a cut of it as well, not just because I need money, but because something that I have put time and effort into creating is making money, therefor I should be aloud a percentage of the money for my work.

You're telling me you wouldn't be narked even a little if you had a timbaland pulled on you?

I guess by cover you mean, I'm playing exactly the same way you did. Perfectly. Which of course can happen in electronic music but basically no where else. That's kind of a weird situation. It might be kind of a dick move but I don't think there should be legal repercussions for being a jerk.

If someone remixed something I released, and it blew up and they made millions, whether or not I'd be upset isn't the question. The question is should I have legal protection from that happening and I'd say no. I'm willing to sacrifice those possible rights for what I see as the greater good of having free access to work with music. I think this is just a fundamental philosophical difference between us. If you can't tell by now I'm a bit of a socialist anyway.

It's all a moot point until I'm crowned king of the earth.

>Socialist
>wants to be king of the earth
I'm not going to say that I think you're a bit of an idiot, but...

Yes, a cover is playing someone else's music the way they did, it may be on different instruments, but by definition, you aren't adding very much to it, so it isn't a remix.
I mean, I'm not trying to attack your ideals, I have a feeling that we have pretty similar ones, if anything we should both be saying "No, you can't make money off of my music because all music should be free" but idk, if I'm living under a system that's broken, I might as well take advantage of it. I wouldn't be happy putting my music out for free for the world to enjoy, while someone else restricts the access of a version of it that that was originally free.

Yeah, make sure that all of you are making the same thing, and that it fits. If you're the musically creative one, and the other members are either less creative/ just there to play your music then you're going to run into problems. As shite and corny as it sounds, you've got to be able to write music to be in a band, not just play an instrument with skill. Although this is non-chip, my band and I all have a lot of music in common, mostly punk stuff, which is what we try and write. It helps if you have more than one thing going on, don't get stuck in a JUST band rut. I write chip as well as work with the band, and because I'm not just doing one or the other, it means that I have different ideas, and can bring more to the table so to speak. If you're looking to write music for every instrument, then you're probably not going to have a good time, and you need to be able to make compromises. Don't control what other people do, and make sure you're familiar with the other isntruments in the band. I play bass, but I can keep a basic rhythm on drums, and play a few chords. I'm not sure if you're planning on adding vocals, but I find it difficult working with the singer, mostly because I can't sing that well, if you can then it's going to be a damn site easier. Also make sure you have a good drummer, incorrect timings are a lot harder to deal with when you have X bit of electronic kit with a perfect speed.
