Hello, I'm selling my Chip Maestro for 45$ ($60 retail here). It's in near perfect condition having only used it twice in a toploading Famicom. Free shipping, only US buyers please.

Thanks!

Hey everyone, for those interested I'm selling a MIDINES 1.1.0 on Ebay for 175$ + free shipping. It is tested and working on a Japanese AV Famicom with a 72-60 pin converter so it is safe to assume it works on the regular NTSC NES. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261956476525?ss … 1555.l2649

Hello, I was wondering what it would take to achieve a kind of visualizer for Game Boy music like NSFPlay-Synthesia, like in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rszzfEgyDUs

I was thinking of two different ways, one through receiving/reading data from a .gbs player, and two somehow directly receiving the serial data from the GB itself. Thanks in advanced for any help!

Ah sorry, I got cold feet and decided to use it in my senior recital instead of emulation : P

Hi, I'm interested in selling my TNS-HFC5, HFX4 NSF Playback cartridge and expansion board for the Famicom. It can playback your NSF's on real hardware with the option of multi-chip hardware rendering! It is only available in Japan, and is extremely difficult to find otherwise. I am also including the necessary cartridges: King of Kings [N163], Esper Dream 2 [VRC6], Lagrange Point [VRC7], Shin 4-Nin Uchi Mahjong [MMC5], and the chip YMZ294 which is the SSG equivalent of Sunsoft 5B playback.
I'll post again when I list it on Ebay soon. It will be at a set price for $400. Sales will be to the US only.

If you have any questions please send me a PM, thanks!

Oh gosh, that's awesome. How can I reserve a copy?

Hello, I have little experience with hardware modding but have been really interested in the stereo mod for the NES perhaps like in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLGo_P-MNG4. However, I own a "New AV Famicom" HVC-101, and haven't been able to find tutorials written specifically for this model and particular mod besides this one in Japanese, http://homepage3.nifty.com/F-LABO/ProductsList.html just wondering if there were any alternatives.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I found one for a fair price, thank you for the advice everyone smile

@Weave of K
No shame, I think that's around the fair going price since it's so hard to find. How has it been for you, like what kinds of ways are you using yours?

That's too bad, it would have been great if he started a small business with employees to help him or something. The same thing happened to DJ Transformer I believe. Life happened, orders got way backed up, peopled complained, and his reputation went down. Maybe these are just the limits of a one-person business.

Hello, as the title suggests, I'm looking to buy a Wayfar MidiNES cartridge. As far as shipment/location, I'm in the southern California area.

By the way, does anybody know if Wayfar is still manufacturing them? There is no place to purchase them on the website.

@nitro2k01
Right, I totally forgot about PPQ, thanks that was really helpful.

The reason why I'm looking into these things is that I'm trying to emulate the surface sound of the GB in Max/MSP, manipulated by MIDI (so I guess I don't need to worry about the CPU, unless I want to be more authentic, which I do). So far I'm using the GB>Hz pitch values and a 32x16 wavetable, 512 samples 44.1kHz rate, portamento, and am working on vibrato. Do you know what other processes of the GB that would be worth emulating to get a somewhat closer-to-authentic sound before I execute these things? (I know this is off topic, can you possibly send me a PM?)

This must be related to the limitations of the GB right? Or is this just a convenient way to sequence notes? (Or maybe both hand in hand?). Is there some principle here that relates to the CPU clock?

I got Famitracker to work in Wine and there are no latency problems. The problem for me however is the keyboard. In order to enter anything, like notes or effects, I have to hold "control + key" which ends up running into a lot of problems, because there are a bunch of overlapping shortcuts that use "control + key". For example, I can't get note effect 'P' to enter at all because it opens Module properties.

This seems like it's a problem with the way Famitracker responds to the keyboard in the Mac-Wine environment. Is there some way to fix this issue?

Oh I have another question. Do you guys know what Program Changes can do in mGB? I thought they were related to presets at first, but that doesn't make much sense because there is already a control for Loading Presets (CC05). I tried sending program change data but it doesn't do anything.

I found the solution to the 2nd problem! I don't know why but either my setup (Akai MPK61 Midi Controller > Logic Pro 9 on my Macbook Air > Arduinoboy > Gameboy DMG-01 w/ mGB) or my Arduinoboy itself doesn't like it when notes across channels are activated at precisely the same time. So what I did was move each track each a hair later than the ones before it (such a small increment that you it's hard to notice audibly) and now it plays back perfectly smile

@untilzero & herr_prof: you guys are probably right, as a synth it seems like it takes more work than it's worth to treat the GB as a polyphonic instrument.  Maybe I'll just use mGB ch 5 and write in a way that is idiomatic for the setup. Thanks for the feedback, it's great to bounce ideas around.

Also for performance, is it possible to have this kind of midi keyboard set up: Keyboard is split down the middle, the top 2 voices are pulse waves, and the bottom is the wav channel?
