Okay, so I know this thread has been dead for a while, but here's the rundown: I have had one of the busiest weeks I've had all year. I had rehearsals on Monday, Auditions on Tuesday, and concerts on Wednesday/Thursday. Next week will be a little less hectic, but not by too much.

That being said, I've done a few things: I ran the radio on Tuesday, established a schedule, and started a facebook page. If you have facebook and are interested in knowing the up and downtimes of this, I suggest you like the page: https://www.facebook.com/abcdefmradio

The schedule, as it stands, is 8-10 or 9-11 CST, depending on when I get started. This is, of course, until I can afford to buy the upgrade that lets me run it full time, and then it'll just loop the playlists over and over while I'm in class. I know this isn't totally ideal, but it's all I got right now. Bear with me.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted, as well as to EVERYONE for the kind words and encouragements. I plan on keeping this running for a while, and it'll only get better from here, especially when summer hits.

Totally. I don't know who all will see this, but I'm going to establish a schedule tonight since I can't afford to run it full time right now.

That was a great first time stream! It'll be up all day tomorrow as well. Thanks to everyone who listened, and I hope you'll tune in tomorrow for some awesome chiptunage!

In case the update to the post was missed, I'm currently live here: http://abcdefm.listen2myradio.com/

You have a website already? Or do you need one made still?

I'm using a free service that unfortunately spams the page with ads. I'm only 15, so I don't know much about what all goes on underneath.
However, if you think you have some info/skills that I could use, feel free to pm me. Help is always welcome!

I am absolutely loving the amount of responses I'm getting with the project! Keep them coming guys, you're making this happen as much as I am.

Track received!

Are you looking solely for originals? Or are covers okay?

Covers are fine!

Totally! Not a problem. Any way you think is best, I just chose email as a general medium of contact. Go right ahead.

OKAY YOU GUYS. IT'S 8:39 PM CENTRAL AND THE RADIO STARTS AT 9. I'M GOING TO BE SETTING UP AND DOING A LITTLE CHATTING WITH ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TALK WITH/MEET ME OR ASK QUESTIONS OR JUST WAIT FOR THE STREAM.

(((SO PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM)))

god i hope this is the right place to post this

I have decided to start an internet radio station called "abcde-FM!" based solely around the Chiptune genre. I'm sure (like 90% sure) that this has been done before but I wanna do it anyway, and I'd like to do it with a community feel (if that's an accurate description of what I'm aiming for).

It's totally and utterly not for profit in any way (it's not like I'm old enough to have a bank account anyway to shuttle money into), aside from whatever ads get slapped onto it. I will gain nothing from this.

SO basically, all I'm asking for, are tunes! If you have something you wouldn't mind letting people hear on a public basis, email a .wav or.mp3 to me at [email protected], and I will definitely look to putting them up there. I have nearly 0 tracks to put in there, aside from some of mine, and some of my friends, so please by all means send them in.

So yeah. If you're interested, shoot me an email.
It'd be cool if you could put [Artist Name] - [Track Title] in the subject bar, but I am no stickler.

Thanks now, and in advanced!

~Rade

((((This post will be going up on the FamiTracker Forum, as well as a facebook chiptune group I'm in to increase the submissions I get. If you have another place you suggest I post this, let me know))))

EDIT: I thought I should mention that this won't go live for a week or so, as I collect all of the submissions. I'll update this when it goes online.
EDIT 2: In light of the amount of submissions I've received (along with my personal library of .ftm files I have collected over the past 3 years), I'm going to begin recording radio announcements/messages that say track names and artists, a general welcoming, and the likes today. I will be preforming a test run soon (tonight, or tomorrow) starting at around 8-9 PM Central Standard time. I'll get more official info up once I'm done with recording.

Pretty sure this is the right place to put this. If not, you have my permission to set me on fire.

Anyway, I made a Midnight City Cover using FamiTracker, and I thought this was a good place to share.

At 14-15 you should have your parents help you find gigs if that's really what you want. Being under 18 can cause issues.

This. I'm 17 at the moment, and as much as I love my parents' support, it can get really annoying having to check age policies and the like. Victory Road knows the deal :U

A lot of the venues I've played at have been 18+ and with alcohol on site. It usually ends up fine, as the guys holding the events are often super chill, but it is still tedious having to find all that stuff out instead of just going "Yup I can play, no worries!"

It's possible, just be prepared for some extra background work!

Right, that make's sense. I'm sure not everyone's gonna be SUPER serious about it.

When i said "15 - 16", i meant i was in between.
I don't mean i was held back a year in what ever was implied.
I don't mean my birth took over a period of a year.

Every Body on this website is always trying to find a way to be over critical.

Woah take it easy man. I was just making a joke. Honest, no harm was intended.

Held back a year in birth?

Thanks you guys! This has been a big help, I really needed this advice. big_smile

I know. XD I'd just like to do more than sit in my room and post music online.
Not exciting.
