If you're from US/CAN you betca. Elsewhere I'd have to find out the postage. PM me.

PM Sent. smile

Hey thanks for the interest, postage to US looks to be under 2$ so I'd be willing to send a copy at least that price. If you're interested PM me and I'll send my details.

Hey all, was going through my closet yesterday and found a forgotten box of my last unsold 2013 release "Never obsolete". They're brand new shrink-wrapped pro done CD copies with real UPC/EAN barcode. Obviously the LP is completely chiptune, check it out here: https://lain2097.bandcamp.com/album/never-obsolete

Rather than displacing air I'd rather see them gone and played.

Dunno if this is appropriate in the trading post but I'd give a super discount or just pay me postage kinda thing.

Hey thanks for checking it out. Exactly, that mirrors myself smile Went for a more sparse, simple direction this time and of course nothing kicks and distorts quite like tape.

Hi all, just finished another instalment of hardware chip on tape. This time in my opinion it's more conventional and far less distorted.

Loads of MIDINES 2A03 & SID 6851 as usual.

Much FM action (via SammichFM & PreenFM) in the later tracks like #5,6,7,9. Also featuring Twisted Electrons AY3 especially on #1,3,4 and 8.

This is a 'lighter' overall release than my previous work so do check it out, free to listen. Any comments good or bad are welcome, I can deal with it ;p

Admittedly this is cool.

But isn't the DB50XG & SU60XG just the same as a MU10 which is already stand-alone? That or I completely misunderstand what this is?

Gotta love FM. Sounds pretty much like OPL.

cool. thanks for the comments. I didm't realise that the bbcode was incorrect because the link worked for me anyway, should be working now.

the cover art is a destruction of artwork (not mine). it's a reference to a certain very popular 80s arcade game... once I saw it I thought it would be a cool cover. but like the audio I just had to destroy it.

Hey all,

Just finished a follow up to my last work - even better and more distorted. Most chip types are all there; 2A07, SPC, OPL3, 6581 and more traditional sampling by a modded VSS30. All that then slammed into the red on 4-track cassette - lo-fi is a understatement!

For something really different check it out: https://lain2097.bandcamp.com/album/pro … -intention

k thx

Contrary to the above posts, I've never encountered any stuck notes with my MIDINES. In fact I find it to have the best response of any synth I own. No issues sending tonnes of notes at 160+bpm and CC messages from Logic. Oh I also use a AMT-8. I don't bother changing its midi receive channels, default 1,2,3,4,5.

One thing I do notice about the MIDINES in particular of its midi implementation is that it has note-on priority - which is nifty for fast arps / sequences. Sounds like you could have a midi loop or something like that?

Way cool if somehow there could be a way to directly compose / playback with a real hardware SPC700 - just because.

Also thx to this thread I tried out that awesome C700 plugin. Wow finally there is a real way to load raw sample rips from the roms (I use SPCTOOL) and load them to a dedicated soft sampler. Most of all the all important playback rate is preserved, loading the waves into any 'normal' sampler up samples them to your project so they sound kinda crappy. Also this messes with their loop points' smoothness. 96k is a heaps faster than its native 14-22k.

To boot it also has /that/ echo/delay which finally nails almost exactly the sound.

I do understand how the SNES SPC700 is not really a chip synth per se, more like a small playback only tracker. From what I understand from looking into how the music / sfx are steamed, high level its not much different from a 90s tracker. Just dedicated decoder, ram and DAC.

That echo/delay is cool in itself. Mostly because unlike almost every stereo delay, its 100% mono compatible. Pretty much every stereo delay / reverb uses phase shifts to achieve width whereas the SPC700 sounds equally good in mono or stereo. prolly to be sure its sounds okay on granny's b/w mono tv.

Agreed, most of the 'sound' of a SNES is down to, short samples, low bit rate (gives that muffled quality) and of course being limited to only 8 channels.

Man instead of loading them into EXS24 and using other effects as I've been doing, I'll be using this from now on!

Put me down for a trail run. I've got almost every ship synth (2A03,SID,OPL,AY3) with MIDI except for SPC.

Hey thought I'd add my (partial) gear pic. Though can't really photograph all the SNES sample libraries I use. Tascam 4-track and VSS-30 are missing in the photo. Guess I'm kinda traditional in that I track using MIDI and multitrack audio.

Second post yay.

Industrial, you got it, though I'm not hung up on labels. I wanted to do something unique and I hope that comes across..

thx for the comment.

Hello everybody.

I just finished off my newest album which can be found here: lain2097.bandcamp.com. Not 'traditional' chip tune faire (if there is such a thing).

There's quite a lot of different synths used: MIDINES,SammcihSID,SNES samples,OPL2 samples and some 'real'l synths like Shruthi-1 and Nord. And if that was not enough I drove that into distortion on cassette. Hence some of the lo-fi-ness.

I figured this would the right place to post ;p

Like to know what people think, good or bad, thanks in advance.

Finally some angry stuff. Love the programming on "GRANNY BASHER". Your other EP I really enjoy even more.

Is that LSDJ or famitracker? I ask because I use MIDINES and some of the drum samples sound similar, obviously with a lot less noise.
