Make up a fairly simple chord progression with a standard bassline and drums, whistle over it to get the melody to fit the chords, edit the melody to make it more elaborate / catchy, change the harmonies and bassline to become more interesting and support the melody better. This is basically how all xyce songs are made. :-)

Woop. I like how there are more people than just us that love to cover France Gall! heart

I found the chipster.

Yeah so retro to send disks to people and add your address to modules so that people can mail you back with new stuff. Bandcamp, whatever.

Been playing guitar since 12 and bass guitar since 14. I can drum just basic rhythms and piano just chords and all, that's about it.

dubmood - lost floppies Vol 1.
cerror - petshop porno

The chiptune artists / composers I listen to mostly don't have albums.

That is awesome!

At what second?

Woop! Tickets booked, visa request granted! READY TO PARTY!

Is there a particular reason you like to track on the real thing? We mostly just use Goattracker for convenience and use SIDplay on the C64 to record our songs for albums and all (the actual sound can't be beat by anything!!!!). So if you just want to track I recommend Goattracker and maybe getting an SD-card reader for your C64 if you want to copy files and programs, it works flawlessly!

If anyone happens to have xylo modules from around 2006, let me know, I lost a specific song module around that time and I want it baaaaack. big_smile

I haven't got my first tracks on this mac but I uploaded the first track I did with cerror (and when theoretically xyce was born) on Soundcloud three years ago. Made around 2005/2006.

Yes! heart

I guess it's still a scene with a lot of divided groups who hardly try exploring other stuff, except for the stuff of people they meet on parties. I notice I do that a lot, which is kind of bad, but I don't really know where to start as well. Nowadays mostly checking out new stuff by artists I already know or meeting new artists on parties or because they do coops with artists I already know. Asides from that I still listen to a lot of old chiptunes and most of those guys are 30 or 40+ and have a serious life to live nowadays.

Never had any trouble, but we don't use a very complicated setup. Had to pull all the cables out of my bag at the handluggage check once after it went through the scan. Kind of weird as they'd probably see something bomb-like pretty fast on a scanner but I guess they just wanted to make sure.

Short clip of people jumping on our Atari track wiggle. We haven't got that much buildup or as the cool kids say 'drops' in our tracks so the fact Bryface captured this moment ánd seeing everybody jumping to it, is kind of cool!
