ooh baby

idc really

id rather be swamped with stuff & be able to find my own gems in it than be given a handful of tracks every few years in the name of consistency/coherence/other vague terms (ahihi bitshifter/blitz lunar)... the gold standard is the ropmusic releases with 50+ tracks.

a lot of weight is given to The Release but in the end its just that, a release. like a fart. it doesnt have to be a masterwork and ultimately its not really even up to you to decide what is/isnt your magnum opus.

im not saying "dont do a concept album" just dont let thoughts like these prevent you from sharing stuff you made with people who might enjoy it:
"these tracks dont 'fit' well together"
"this album is too long"
"this is an album but the chip scene prefers EPs"
"this album is too diverse"

ya if youre charging money for something maybe you need to try offering good value for money. but taking songs away isnt likely to increase the value for money ever

would it be easier to Fix Linux than for whoever makes piggy tracker to make a github page

you know you dont have to work chip music into every thing you do

good luck though

yea it would be cool if it was open source but no

is this what DR SBAITSO used? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV3pYZZ2jEw

schism tracker
impulse tracker

its like you might be an amateur horticulturalist but not want to become a Pro Farmer because you dont want the pressure of external demands on the quality and quantity of your produce

or you might enjoy computer programming but not want a job as a programmer writing programs for other people

"worst case scenario" youre contractually obliged to produce albums you dont want to make or theres a lot of pressure on you to do certain things stylistically or you have to go on tour or you lose the rights to your own music

i would say that "you're still using internet to promote yourself but some guy somewhere is selling phisical copies of it." is probably closer to a best case than a worst case

C:\SAMPLES\JILL\YEAHH01.WAV

well a Record Deal Offer doesnt appeal to me as a thing in itself

but obviously if the price & conditions were right......    like a Handsome Salary to do exactly what i do now would be ok

but afaik record deals are nothing like that and Sand Neil Music has no saleability anyway

there really isn't a cheap, small, active mixer available

3-4 stereo inputs (1/8 in. jacks) with volume control into a metal enclosure that is about the size of a gameboy.

have you seen the ART stuff? they do a lot of small utility thingies

heres a cheap small active mixer with 3 stereo inputs & volume control in a metal enclosure that is about the size of a gameboy

i think the site is ok or at least fit for purpose, theres a lot of HOW CAN WE FIX THE SITE hype recently without any evidence that theres a problem who needs fixing
