you are probably recording with the microphone input on your computer with loads of windows settings designed for people who use the microphone for skype enabled

use the line in or an audio interface & record at a sensible level

greatsword there's a time and a place for debate

a third of the posts in this thread are by you and most of the rest are directed at you. youve completely hijacked this thread about someones personal issues and made it about you & the things you want to talk about. thats really rude

review of this album

1 - years best hair brush: interesting textures and good use of repetition. i give this song a 7/10
2 - big tie: more interesting textures and good use of stereo. gets really good around midway through. the second section is really good too. i give this song an 8/10
3 - chase scene: this one is superb. good rhythm and textures. i give this song an 8.5/10
4 - coconut song: i thught i wasn't going to like it from the intro but it got better and became pretty good towards the end. i give this song a 7.5/10
5 - eyes on prize: this one was ok but not spectacular 7/10
6 - terminal: this one is very cool and i like the chiptune sounds (of course!) and the FM tones. i'm going to give this one a... 8.5/10!!!

overall i give this album 8/10 & id say its a top 10 chiptunes album of 2013

nice work well done

i feel like sharing experiences of similar situations & discussing how psychiatric medicines affect creativity is different to "giving medical advice" & a relevant topic for this website but im certainly not interested in getting into a debate about the +/- of psychiatric medicines in general on ~chipmusic~.org

maybe prematurely giving up is  a symptom of the adhd and a sign that the new medicine is less effective at dealing with your adhd than the last one? speak to your doctor about imo

i didnt notice any direct affect of any medications on my music writing but it affects your spirit in broad ways and im sure some will pass into your music

is it permanent? no! i think youll find a new approach to accomodate the new medicines or if that fails find a better medicine

i didnt want to talk about licenses either but the differences is that i took that position from the start rather than adopting it when i was called out for lying about easily proven objective facts

when you upload material to bandcamp, its all the same license. you dont get to choose.

don't lie

edit: d'oh

"without actual hardware for FM synthesis, FM music was simulated using the Ensoniq wavetable, with the result that most FM soundtracks sounded little more than a jumble of cacophonous notes played on random MIDI instruments"

doesnt sound promising

If your argument is that TSS simply shouldn't be allowed to control the rights to his music, then I'll tell you that I simply disagree and you're correct in saying I'll probably have a hard time ever accepting that.

well, that is what i really think. but in this case the music was supposedly cc-licensed and i think its just unpleasant to publically shame someone for misunderstanding some legal detail of a license which is usually used to imply "go ahead, share my music". & in my other posts i tried to tie that into a long running trend in the chip community of getting wildly overexcited about minor copyright law infractions while disregarding copyright law whenever it suits "us". but introspection is banned at cmo so instead we just threw legal terminology (which you continue to do) at each other until the poor guy apologised.

whatever! enjoy all the masses of extra bandcamp $$$s you'll get now this parasite has been taken care of wink

see, you are clearly way too entitled for your own good, and beyond the wishes of the artists.

in future it'd be advisable for you to use "all rights reserved" to make your wishes as an artist (that your music isnt shared) clear

Why does nobody on this forum have any desire to just accept the opposite point of view? TSS owns TSS' music, he can make his own decisions and they don't affect your musical career at all.

and the opposite point of view: soundwave trax "owns" his youtube channel, he can make his own decisions and they dont affect anyone really apart from helping people discover new chiptunes & get more into it

any desire to "just accept" it? probably not, you clearly believe strongly in something else

"just accept the opposite point of view" is an odd thing to say and you wouldnt have said it if you had already done it yourself. did you mean "just accept it, i'm right" or did you mean "let's stop talking about it"? either way begging for people to prematurely end a discussion which you were happily partaking in a few posts ago is another cool chipscene trope smile

no, but if you assume ""chip music"" refers to yourself personally maybe you have some other sort of complex ;D

i dont think hes claiming to have put any creative effort into this. it's just sharing / redistributing the music he likes. kind of like slsk wink
