Hi. Good point I think. Maybe I have to rename the app. The gameboy is quite limited hardware and chord can only play monophonic sounds. So it plays chords in a sense you can pick chords on a guitar.

Well chords in chiptune music are traditionally rendered as very fast arpeggios, so the name is not really wrong, all the contrary. I don't think you have to change the name. I was more wondering if aside from playing arpeggios one could also play actual chords like you'd do on a piano.
Actually applications like Nanoloop or LSDJ let you do that by using for example the L and R channel and just having two (or three if you use the custom wave channel too) notes play at the same time. But it's not a deal breaker, it can be a choice to focus on just the arpeggios.

Chords with L and R? I think you mean pulse 1 and pulse 2. With the use of all three channels excluding the noise channel, true three note chords wouldn't be too hard. Just set the pulse widths to match your square wave sample. So yeah, just to reiterate what you said. tongue

Ok, thanks! I do own one, but I hardly ever compose with it, its just not heavy and brick-ish enough. big_smile

I can agree with you there. My hands cramp up on the smaller handhelds.

OK. Let's have a closer look at the midi connections then. Im at work, so I can't chat long , but is midi in or out or both not working?
We should check the opto and your actual midi connectors. Pins 4 and 5 could easily be switched.

I have an off-white Pocket I wanted to try this on but I'm worried about the paint. Will it remove the A, B, START and SELECT text as well?

I think not, as long as the concoction is mild enough. It is not really a paint, it is something like an enamel.

In that case, I feel like you need to double check the pins in the cable. The LEDs are blinking like they should, so the arduino is doing everything right. The connection between it and the boy are goofy.

The order needs to be Green, Yellow, red to A0, A1, A2 respectively. Brown in the +5v wire which you should connect to RAW or to nothing when using USB power.

EDIT: Wait, are you using the DMG-007 cable?

I really like how they look but U$4.500 is a little steep, specially considering Kitsch already makes EL backlights. What about a plan B? Will you just can the idea if Kickstarter fails?

Yes it did, surprisingly. The plan is for that to go into YMDj cart testing. So get excited for it.
