I already have a cheap board, but with no VGA. I tried to program something in Verilog once, but my idea was too great for an FPGA to handle. I had about 1000 switch cases, and this just killed any hopes of programming it to the FPGA. tongue

Basically, I was trying to have the FPGA act as a ROM, and this would have worked if the data in said ROM was smaller. 1Kbytes was much too large for any FPGA to handle, at least any FPGA available to me.

So I read through the whole thread to recap everything that has been done.

My current thoughts:
1. I'm gonna stick to original idea of DMG/Pocket to computer.
2. I need to check with one of my co-workers (who turned out to be competent in FPGA) what kind of board is needed to pull off video capture. I'll let you know what board I'll have ordered and dump all the info here.

Awesome. There are boards that have VGA built-in, which is what I personally want to get out of this project. I understand that you want to get video on a PC< but I want video on a TV or monitor. Different hopes, but the same goal.

Timbob, did you ever build that LCD directly into the SGB? I suspect you could pull a power board from a gameboy to get VEE.

But doing that would still require an SGB and SNES, in which case it would just be easier to mod the GB buttons to act as an SNES controller.

I only have a IIe. >:(

I have not seen them go for that little.

Recent debate on another forum rules that the White Gameboy is not a PLay it Loud. The advertisement Pitch was only used in the USA. wink

Any trades? I am moving away from the portable aspect of music making, so gimme me something synthy and modular, K?

Don't worry about which is brightest. Worry about which is easier on your eyes. With a backlight installed, the gameboy becomes playable in all light sources, so it doesn;t matter how bright it is really.

I like white and pink personally.

Too thin. Find an old IDE cable and cut it to length.

Back in my day, our backlights were as thick as a child's forearm.

I have shorts! I don't wear them very often though because I have to wear long pants at work.

Since no one cared to mention, the album photo is beautiful with that effect, but the fonts are ugly. I also had a hard time finding Jredd's name.
The music is good though. tongue

I'll pass that along to groove, maybe he can give me that picture and I can try some different fonts. Thanks for the input. Glad you like the music though as that is easily the most important thing for us. The album cover was just quickly thrown together by Groovemaster303 tongue.

Of course, I know. No one else would have said so though. Sorry to be the devil's advocate.

Kids React (to Hatsune Miku, in that case) is how I discovered...

Put best, when kids reach their own conclusions on something they feel is "theirs" it is not easy to change their minds.

IIRC, that whole episode was mostly about live performances of Hatsune Miku rather than the music or even the program featuring the vocal samples. The narrow-mindedness of these shows lead kids to have the most absurd reactions. Its all about shock value as opposed to educating kids about different cultures or ideas.

Its going to be hard to remove the text without affecting the surrounding plastic.
sand paper will change the texture and corrosives, even light-, will smooth the plastic and make it cloudy looking.

You can try an acetone+water combo starting off with nearly no acetone. 10:1 ratio for starters maybe.
Before that though, wash the surface with goo-gone (not goof-off) to see if it dissolves the text. If it does not, no harm done.
