QUEENS YES!!

Here are my thoughts/suggestions:

Who do you want to see in this lineup:
--Some of the folks from the up and coming Indonesian scene!

What names would you like to see headlining this show?
--European artists, Patric Catani, Goto80, Role Model etc.

What artists would make you come to this gig no matter what?
--See above

What kind of merchandise would you like us to be selling at the show?
--In addition to the usual t-shirts and albums, lots of tables for zines
and workshop-type stuff; more electronic kits, maybe reach out to
nonfinite and kitsch-bent, they could show up with a couple of tables
worth of modded gear for sale?

Perhaps you can rent tables out too; Maker Faire, Bent Festival
folks might be on board for this. some local chip musicians can sell
their own albums and merch. Also, if it's going to be an all day event,
how about a food vendor? Ballpark style food, hotdogs and burgers and
whatnot.

Also, this question might be a little off, but for the venue purposes I
must also ask: Are you likely to buy alcohol at the show?
--I probably won't, I think plenty will though, but if you can make it
all ages the venue owners can still pull decent in a profit on water
and soda, sweaty mosh pits and summertime heat and all that.

And finally...
--Hmm, if the price was as much as $15, I'd go, but would have trouble
convincing friends not familiar with chip music to shell out that much
to come with. I feel like $12 is the magic price, just high enough to
make it seem like a big deal: something people want to check out on a
hot summer weekend, but not so high that it turns off people with a
casual interest.

But $20 w/ chassis is stupid cheap. no clue who they're making money on it. but oh well.. When i get one i'll give it a listen to see how i like it.. and report back to this thread.

I've got one on it's way as well.  I finally found some real discussion about it (including some responses from the builder):

Very positive stuff.

I was satisfied with my Altoids tin CMOY until I read this, looks real slick and for that price, why not take a chance on it? Definitely want one for my desk.

egr you wanted cheap and portable so I gotta recommend a CMOY in an Altoids tin over this one though, fits in a pocket and only takes one 9v instead of two like the Banzai, those get expensive to replace quick.

Premade or kit, can't go wrong:

(seriously, if you don’t go apeshit to Cirque Beserk, you have more self-control than I do!) If you like your music hardcore and happy, get on this! If you’re still not convinced, Roll Trick also includes a flipping IAYD Remix! Say whaaaaaat?

(at the former Tower Record Store)
4th street and Broadway
January 16- February 13, 2010
Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm to 7pm

On Friday, January 15, 2010, No Longer Empty  (NLE) will re-open the legendary Tower Records store on Broadway and 4th street with a multi-media art exhibition: Never Can Say Goodbye.

Spotlighting more than twenty artists that work with sound, light, and image, Never Can Say Goodbye recreates a fantasy version of the now defunct Tower Records with Never Records by Ted Riederer- an installation complete with record bins, album covers, music posters and a performance stage. Works by Meredyth Sparks, simultaneously critique and revere the flat glamour of icons such as David Bowie and half-nude eighties models. Artist Siebren Versteeg presents custom installations that re-invigorate the space with music memories and the pulse of his contemporary art practice. Ryan Brennan bounces sound through an eight-boom box installation offering an audio tour of Hip Hop. Other interactive installations celebrate the store’s historic role as the locus of the community-- the old way to meet people face to face and share music and information.
