MUSIC

goferboy (New York, USA)
http://goferboy.bandcamp.com/

Also known as Henry Andrew Baum, goferboy began his existence as a twinkle in his father's eye that turned into a flame that could be extinguished. After tickling the ivories of a piano for most his childhood, goferboy traded his piano-playing for fondling of Game Boy buttons. His sound varies from melodic frolics to gloomy bass to disco pulsations. The results impregnates the audiences ears, as his provocative, neon-hip fluxuations fertilizes their hearts.

Note!
http://note.bandcamp.com/

Note!, the alias of Christophe Richard from Brooklyn, New York, explores music through a lo-bit aesthetic and aims to prove that even the simplest square waves and white noise can be textured and crafted to create something far greater than the sum of their parts. Oh and you can dance to it. So dance. NOW.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Marjorie Becker (Chiptography)
http://www.chiptography.com/

Marjorie Becker has been documenting the New York City chip music scene since 2006 including Pulsewave and the New York Blip Festival. Her work documenting chip music artists has been featured on Time.com, Kotaku.com and published in print magazines EGM , Paper, and Time Out New York.

Dean Putney
http://deanputney.org/

Adept at finding his way into places he doesn't belong, Dean has
photographed Apple product launches, music festivals, abandoned
military bases and flying rocket ships.

Additional photography by Laura Nealon, Jeffrey Moore, Alexandra Klasinski, Michael Moya, Melanie Little and Caroline Voagen Nelson.

Well that was some good fun.

Oh damn. And how. Thanks, everyone, that ranked right up there with the best of the sweaty hot chip shows.

uB's track "Sounds Like Jobim" from the "Mario In An Elevator" comp is featured in Vaudeville Park's Fall Fundraiser video.

For those of you outside New York/Brooklyn, Vaudeville Park is the home of I/O Chip Music NYC. If you're planning on coming to the October 5 2012 anniversary show, please consider donating $25 to the fall fundraiser and your admission is free-you'll also get some karma and vibes for helping out I/O's home base. We'll have more space for attendees, more hanging walls for artists to hang their work, a mural for the west wall, and a newly-renovated bathroom for everyone's comfort.

“Princeton, New Jersey-based DJ and producer Christian
Montoya produces music on the DS-10 that’s drier and more
exposed, as he programs intricate bass music on the
unprocessed Nintendo cart. The results, are a perfect
marriage of game chip-waveform rawness, nude bass and
synth and percussion sounds, and carefully-concocted
grooves.”
