Thanks that seems reasonable...I found a website which actually can show you the average selling price of an item on eBay, so I just popped in Gameboy Colors and that gave me some perspective on what to take off (apparently they sell for an average of ~$36? go figure) ... anyway, thanks for the tip!

Topic: Modification Pricing (4 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Hi! Living in SoCal and being electronics savvy, I get a lot of requests from people asking me to do chiptune-related mods (among other things) for their systems--popular ones seem to be GBC pro sound and frontlighting, for example. I've obviously taken to charging for this due to having to generally source the parts for these myself. I've looked online to see what other people tend to charge for various mods but came to realizes this usually factors in the fact that a whole entire Gameboy is included in the price, as opposed to one that's being provided to me to mod. I figured the community here might have a few tips--I don't want to rip anyone off, but I also don't want to undercharge. Thanks in advance for any tips

Re: Stereo separation issues with Pro Sound GBs? (2 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Hi, thanks for the offer. I tried recording those notes like you said, and as it turns out the actual waveforms were showing up correctly--as in, only the right channel was there when I panned right, and so on. It appears the issue is actually my recording interface, which for some unholy reason is deciding to sum all channels as mono on playback. The actual recordings are turning out fine. I feel really stupid, but thanks for suggesting I do that anyway else I probably wouldn't have guessed it was the interface thanks! For the record, I'm using an MBox2 Mini (my better interface is currently not running), so if anyone else is thinking of recording with one of those, be aware of this x_x

Topic: Stereo separation issues with Pro Sound GBs? (2 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Hi,
long time lurker, first time poster. I've searched the Googlesphere fairly thoroughly as well as this forum and I'm fairly certain I couldn't find anything related to this issue, so please forgive me if I am in fact bringing up something people have answered before. Anyways!
I'm having a huge issue recording from my pro sound modded Gameboy. Specifically, none of my stereo separation seems to be recording right...things that I've panned hard left and hard right, which sound absolutely correct when using the GB's headphone jack, are sounding like they are being played center when recording from the Pro Sound out...I've tested this on two separate GameBoys, one with RCAs and 1/8" and another with only 1/8"...I didn't do the mods myself but I got them done by reputable places online and figure that's not the issue. Is this just how the Pro Sound is supposed to sound like and I'm being dumb? Any insight would be appreciated, as this is actually kind of an urgent issue for me ^^; thanks.
