Awesome. Only one request. The name for my song is a bit scrambled lol.
It should be: Carf Darko - Gazo II
But awesome to see that I am part of this.

Hi!

Just uploaded a fresh track!
This track also contains a new video style that I am using for the second time.
A bit less boring and more interaction with the viewer thanks to my 8bit
alter ego Carf!

You can find the track here! Enjoy! But better prepare to ROCK!

Not sure what kind of measure it is but this is my only *off-beat* track I created.

After my adventures of creating Pixel Me Square, my second album and the first one including a game, or rather called *interactive episode* of my ongoing serie Dark&Darko I started working on the first draft of a follow-up.

The first album contains 12 songs and the interactive part which is basicly a small RPG kind of game without any deep-going level system. It's more about the story and the small adventure that you go through being my 8bit alter ego making things ready for the release party that same evening.
For this project I invited ALL my youtube fans to be part in the game as an NPC at the party itself. The response was about 50 people and I even was able to get MatPat from Gametheory, Dan Bull, Dave and Joe from Gamesack and the guys from IGN Podcast Beyond into the project!

The game itself has 1 hour gameplay and after that, a free-roaming part in my studio/audio-lounge that takes up to 20 minutes to fully explore and talk to everyone.

Learned a lot but after working on this for 3 full months and a well deserved break of 2 months I feel like doing something like this but WAY better!
So, setting up the first draft, creating a basic story line and main idea where it all should lead to and the first drafts looking better already then the complete outcome of my first project!

I already got a few people who gave me permission to use the name and logo's and stuff is going to be even more crazy then before!
Here is the first map which is a very important location for the game. An 8bit arcade hall!

And I would love to hear some feedback about this idea smile.

Keep up the creativity!

Hi!

Meet Carf Darko (in case you where not aware of him yet) my 8bit digital alter ego. As lot's of people ask me how I create my music I decided to let him show a thing or two. Not a tutorial cause that would take way to long, but just the arrangement of the song. The scene takes place in his studio which is part of an on-going webserie and game.

Feedback highly appreciated smile

My web browser does not like the email thingie (it's an error from the webmail service from my provider... Can you please PM me the email addie so I can participate?

Nevermind, fixed wink

Gaming, a lot of it, especially oldshool games. My songs NEED to give you a feeling that you want to turn on that old NES again. If so, my mission is accomplished, if not, back to the drawing table.

I don't have a real source of inspiration, it's just that while composing I try to think about what kind of game could fit with the song itself. Most of my songs are a kind of rock styled megaman/castlevania atmosphere. And a good amount of beer also helps with finalizing.

Sometimes I feel like it's not even me who creates the tracks but my 8bit digital alter ego... I like to call those moments *working on auto pilot* as it feels like translating what is in my head wink.

Does this makes you want to play some Castlevania?

Woot! Two full day's of tile-set creating, scripting and mapping but it's starting to become alive!

Just like my second album Pixel me Square the new one will come with another interactive adventure with my creative alter ego and this time things are going to be bigger, bolder and better!

A bigger adventure and a more awesome end game!

For now the scheduled release is summer 2015 so I still got plenty of time to make it uber-awesome instead of regular awesome!

Expect another one (20 minutes!) later this week!

So, last weekend was just totally unforgettable for me and my 8bit digital alter-ego. Even a tooth extraction can NOT whip away the smile on my face!
After 2 years of creating I finally took the step and had a change to show my skills at the open stage of Eindbaas (amsterdam) and WarpZone (art-expo also in Amsterdam).

I met so many awesome people and I got so much inspiration thanks to my fellow producers from the Netherlands.
Enjoy the mix! Comments are more then welcome!

One happy Carf!
