aaaaaaaaaaaa I thought I emailed you back, Imaginary. Sorry about that! Getting back to you right now.

So, yeah. it's been two weeks now since I last heard from you. You told me the package was in the mail and that you'd get me a tracking number ASAP. No package, no tracking number no communication. If the package isn't in the mail yet please refund my money. Otherwise send me the tracking number.

Unnatural Flavors just got a writeup on Chipwin!
;_; couldn't have done it without you guys...

Imaginary, I will have something for you by Jan 1st, possibly sooner.

Also I just wanted to say that this is a fantastic spin on your standard compilation. going a step further and acting as a chronicle of sorts for the artists and their music during the year they were writing it is a great idea that I wish was done more. Big props.

Hey thanks man! And thanks to all for the positive feedback. This is the sort of thing I'd like to become an annual event if it's well received enough, so spread the word. If everyone who has pledged to submit a track does so it will already be a great album.

It's not what I expected, but with a little fiddling of my eqs I had a very bassy evening! I like the weird little arps and pulse ornaments. The samples are well done as well. Is this EP a forerunner to a full release, or a standalone?

Any word on where that parts lot might be? Still waiting...

It's jammin' man. "Seattle" makes my heart feel good.

Beauty. Some textured soundscapes and some funky beats. At times a detectable Hip Tanaka influence. Really enjoyed the seamless transitions. I can't help wondering what the individual songs/movements would have been titled.

AWESOME! Super fun and super sick. I really dig it.

Fun stuff! I'll definitely be submitting a track, either new or "old". I assume previously released tracks are okay as well?

"Old" tracks are good to go, as long as they were produced in 2015!

Well, I leave tomorrow then.
Wish me luck, heheh. (And beer!!).

Man, the midwest gets all the rad events. tongue This looks like a great party! When in Pittsburgh make sure to grab a Victory Prima Pils!

Yo I'm def down for this but I'm not sure I understand the written portion

Well, the written portion can be more or less whatever you want. You could approach it like a "What I did this summer vacation" type of essay about your year working on music, or you could talk about the technical details of the song you've submitted. You could write a poem or a short story. You could tell us about your cats.

Really the idea is to present a snapshot of what this community looks like at this moment in time. Kind of like an archival piece that later people can look back on that includes the (possibly) disparate, outlying voices that would be overlooked or not selected otherwise. The way that the "closed" comps work is great if you want a look at whatever the judges opinions tell you is good. (Which has worked great many times in the past, don't get me wrong.) But another view has value too. Maybe somebody feels like "My music is weak/bad/boring." Maybe it is. But it exists as an honest attempt at artistic expression, and is therefore valid and interesting to some degree. That's where the written aspect comes in. Even if you feel like you weren't able to get across what you wanted to say musically, you can have another chance to express yourself. (Or express yourself more fully, whatever.)

Just in time for Halloween, today I'm releasing my second album-length work, Unnatural Flavors.

A fruity daydream of the past. Upbeat, melodic and at times unabashedly goofy. This album represents the bulk of my tracking work for 2015.

This is a "lite" release of the album, and in a few weeks/months there will be a full release including full cover art, liner notes and all sorts of other goodies to add to the treat bag.

All songs tracked with 1XLSDJ v4.7.3 and v4.6.3. Minimal processing. Refrigerate after opening.

Free on Bandcamp.

Updated art by my dude Scott!
