I recently bought an NES, although the top portion of the shell has a few cracks on the edges. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Your best bet is probably purchasing a non-working NES unit either locally, i.e. craigslist or on Ebay.

there is no shop that sells nes shell replicas. and if they did it would probably cost much more than one or two used nes systems

There was a shop on ebay that sold colorful transparent shells at one point, then they disappeared. I recently heard a rumor that someone may be selling shells soon, but I wasn't given any details at all.
