Yeah, myself and a few others around the globe have picked up the hobby of ripping samples from SNES roms and compiling them into soundfonts. Which takes a lot of time tuning, setting loop points, etc. but is worth it for the character of those sounds
If you look up SNES soundfonts on the googles there are plenty out there, and down to some pretty obscure games. A lot of these games use the same sounds as other games, so you can pretty much find whatever you're looking for in this format already. I would suggest using the method in this video only if there's straight up one exact sound you need to have from a game and know there's no way it's already out there. Cool that more people are getting into it though!
