...and if you are going to buy a cart, demo it on ROM first - I had a cart and sold it as I didn't find it user friendly in the slightest.

I have pocket music (gbc) on a cart. it is a pain in the butt to use and it has noise when stopped, but i sleep better at night knowing i didn't steal software. If your willing to put in a little time and have throbbing gameboy thumbs you could make a decent track with it. I am not going to sell my copy.
