hello,

this is my first post here.. sorry for my bad english!

i build a simple crossfader controlled by a reed switch sensor function. i solder the audio line out on a reed switch. so everytime the magnet comes near the reed switch it will open the sound and if i move the magnet back the reed switch cut the sound. it works perfect but the only big problem is: everytime i cut the sound fast it pops and crackles. any idea how to isolate or remove the pops and crackles?

how a reed switch works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52r0VQlHA74

thank you

Im a complete electronics noob, but maybe you could use a capacitor to discharge / fade the signal? Im in the process of building a cross"cutter" (like a crossfader with no fade) id be interested to see a vid of your device!

either that or build a simple VCA with a tiny attack / release to avoid the pops! theres some good stuff in the book "handmade electronic instruments; the art of hardware hacking"
