I showed this to my gf and she drunkenly dug her TI-83+ from storage at 3 AM because she was excited about me having another thing to chiptune with.
That's love, friends.

You have a very good girlfriend @toasterpastries! Both for owning a TI-83+, and for supporting your work!!

This is awesome!

I have an album in the works written completely on the TI-83 and HT, but I've stalled a bit lately. This is a good kick up the arse to get on with things. Thanks for continually improving the software. smile

Cheers guys, glad to hear people are still interested in this.

@unexpectedbowtie Wow, a full HT album, really looking forward to that!

I wouldn't set your expectations too high. It is going to be my music after all tongue

I had problems with Houston refusing to exit or after exit calculator came really sluggish not responding properly. Removing battery would fix, but lose a tune too.
Found out that you want to remove the headphones/adapter before exiting HT.

@rebb: Thanks for the tip!

I'm hoping to start exploring the possibilities of 1-bit music on a TI-82 soon! big_smile

Yeah, the reason might not be obvious, but the ht2 manual says:

Always plug in headphones after you've started HT2.

Hey I know there's quick-reference PDF in the documentation, but the 2nd page of commands is not all that readable for printing out... requesting that you consider reformatting that for better print size and possibly include reference info from the panning calculator on garvalf's site.

Also, I think I'm having problems with levels. I'm using a TI-83 Plus and when I plug headphones in, the sound is pretty quiet... however when I plug it into my interface or the field recorded I use as a portable recorder/amp, the output is WAY too loud. Is that normal?

The quick reference PDF is meant to be printed and folded into your TI calc, that's the reason of the small form factor. I've made it for my own use. For the panning, the instructions on the top should be enough, shouldn't they (except it's very small)? I don't see more on my website (http://garvalf.online.fr/ht2_panning.php)

The calc doesn't output at a very loud level, so if you use a headphone with high impedance, your calc shouldn't deliver enough voltage. Try to use low impedance headphones, such as earphones. On your portable recorder, isn't there a line-in? I guess you're using a microphone-in socket, which will be too sensitive.

Nice job! I love that phrase: 'classic mario at a rave'. big_smile

I finally got time to upgrade tonight, with some fresh batteries. I've got four tracks recorded so far for the Calculator album. Working on the 5th. Should hopefully have it finished early next year.

I've seen a cool presentation of Houston Tracker at the SteemFest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9vkxT6ddio
