sory i was not hear this album
I don't know how much this song qualifies as chiptune, it is not only the best one in the genre but also the best tune ever (in my opinion): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45l3UAsEQs8

Spamtron is fantastic and definitely qualifies. You know that's a cover of Gerudo Valley, right?

You know the original composition is a Zelda soundtrack right?
But it is a good tune, I like the samples and vibe.
Algar's cement. :-)
And I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Alanya Spring and Bitblaster are two of my favorite songs from 2012.

yo imma let you finish, but Planet Rock by Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force was the greatest electro release of all time. Of all time.
if it's sampled from Numbers and TEE wouldn't that mean that 2 kraftwerk tracks add up to almost 3/4 of the greatest electro track of all time?? That doesn't seem right. I'll have to check my math...hold on...carry the 2.... I came up with kraftwerk=win.
thanks xylo for mentioning that Zalza disk I didn't know about that.
Also, make sure xyce is on the essential list somewhere.
Future, Towards the Edge of Forever by Infinity Shred is an amazing album in my opinion. It was released when they were still called Starscream but they had to change their name later. I love the track "Galeforce."
Is it just me or is that kinda annoying?
No, not at all. This is the exact aesthetic I don't have the taste for when it comes to chiptune.
Seeing a lot of well-known artists, so I'll post some of the deeper stuff. If you want to further expand your collection I highly recommend checking out Grayscale project's website:
Grayscale Project's website<-this includes the SAP files for most of the tracks, as well as mp3s. It is also a freaking GOLD MINE for finding sites. You can also find websites with radio shows, news, databases, etc. It is my go-to site if I need anything. Like this one, which has xm and mod files from 4mat, goto80, and others in the Files section->chiptunes.org.
Stuff from Grayscale Project and its members (oldschool atari ftw ^ ^)
Grayscale Project - Jam Session
Łukasz Sychowicz (X-Ray) - Zizibum<-one of my all-time favorites
Łukasz Sychowicz (X-Ray) - Barymag #2-8
Grzegorz Kwiatek (Greg) - Misunderstanding
Haven't listened to any of BeWu's stuff, hoping to do that tonight
Other kickass stuff:
Michal Szpilowski (Miker) - Saddam's Secret Moonbase
Adam Gilmore - Draconus (Theme)
Radek Sterba (Raster) - Posthelper
Beek - Funknium

Agreed. I don't have anything against those that enjoy it, I just prefer oldschool atari style music.

Kind of chip music... I mean, it has many elements of chiptunes, but there's a hefty dose of samples too. Early Amiga stuff. Still though, probably one of the best game song ever made in like all of ever, ever.
I love chipzels album phonetic symphony, if you havent heard it, listen to it, its great
