Up till now I've been getting chip releases based on word of mouth in the chip community or from 8bc, here, etc, however given the huge variety of styles that exist within chipmusic I'd love to have a source that can narrow down the amount of music I need to sift through by bringing me releases of the styles I enjoy. Can you guys list some of your favourite chip netlabels and roughly what styles they are/standards they have? Thanks.

m3rck is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a chip music label.

well, for starters, what DO you like, that way we can think of labels heavy in the styles you like

There's probably like 20 labels. Each one has like, 1 release or less per month. It's hardly "too much" to keep up with. If it's that hard, just follow the best labels and go on missing the good stuff that comes out on all the others.

yeah i dont really get why they're on there. i can kind of understand why monotonik is on there, but they're not very "chip" either. they did have mod releases though, i guess that's chip enough.

someone should update that list.

M3rck AND monotonik are defunct now, anyways...

But monotonik still has an archive up, as well as the follindrome st-00 modsoulbrother etc.

;_; i still have hope for monotonik...

they're on "permanent?" hiatus. That question mark is a tiny beacon of hope.

Well, last time I talked to Simon, it sounded like he couldn't be bothered anymore. I'd never say never, however. m3rck is completely dead, though.

hey here's some styles

ubiktune: prog/jazzfusion
pause: prog
8bitpeoples: dance
kittenrock: noise/mush/acid/fonk/wonk
calmdownkidder: a bit of everything
pterodactyl squad: "vgm style" or something

every other chip netlabel is just electro house

have to stick up for a few other labels: (also not electro house)
handheld heroes
little bit records
hexawe
radiograffitti
mp3death
etc.

plus dauragon and i are starting one which is very much not electro house, since i kinda hate house music

Screw you losers, I only follow the labels that _do_ release house music.
