So I've always been a big fan of odd/complex time signatures, changing time signatures, changing tempos blah blah in the death, prog, melodic, experimental metal I listen to which is obviously not chiptune.  With that being said, anyone have any suggestions for songs of the chip variety that fall into those previously mentioned details?  Also if anyone is up for it I'd be curious to hear some weird stuff...so if you know or have written a song that you consider to be weird or just overall radically different, go ahead and post a link.

PS: After looking back I hope people (mis)read it as "death-prog-melodic-experimental metal" so I can seem even more like a pretentious douchebag...which I swear I'm not big_smile

I have some Danimal Cannon on my Zune...It's great stuff.

Pwntendo was the very first tune that really got me into making music with my LSDJ...I heard some crazy "game music" coming out of a friends room and was like: "Oh shit this is exactly the genre I've been in the mood for how the hell haven't I thought to look into this before?"...It was Pwntendo and the start of a new hobby/obsession that may very well be the bane of my roommate and girlfriend's existence.

One of the more obvious answers would be Disasterpeace, but previously mentioned Norrin Radd and Virt are both fucking sweet. You might like Animal Style as well, he uses heavily distorted guitar (sounds like 8-bit fuzz) to go along with his music.
My suggestion would be to browse through the catalog at iimusic.net, I'm sure a lot of it will cater to your taste.
Perhaps not like prog metal, but Plain Flavored's music is definitely progressive in some variation of the term and also rather technical/ experimental.

Oh man the first is so good so far.  Thanks a ton.  Working on the rest of the suggestions as well.

ubiktune.org has some good stuff too... Darkman's most recent sounds like something you'd dig. C-Jeff's Electric might be up your alley as well. My release is definitely proggy... but not at all metally.
