2/5 of this year's nominations were nominated last year (for live performance) - is it really that bad that someone who lives in NYC, undoubtedly where the most chipmusic shows happen, who presumably goes to lots of these shows, feels the need to repeat two musicians for this year's award?

So the only way youd like this list was if it was completely new? There where a number of rad new performers, but this is the top five list I felt more comfortable with.

I guess I agree that this would need a more global scope.
Here's the idea: next time, pay us staff to go to every show world wide. If you make a show, book us a plane ticket to assist.
Then we can consider it.

I think it seems pretty reasonable that a person who was an excellent performer last year is probably still an excellent performer this year.
