I've heard, and have experienced, that sometimes when LSDJ is played on a DMG or Pocket, it can cause the gameboy to literally slow down the track and begin to glitch out a little bit. My question is, does this happen with nanoloop as well?

Yes, mostly when using high bpm.

Starscream shared a .sav of their song 'Space' and it will always slow down and sometimes glitch in the opening chorus. This is at about 145 bmp.

edit: it only happend on the hardware since the emulators can adapt.

Try gameboy colors if you're working with material that makes the DMG and pocket stutter.
