I modified this Gameboy so that the clock speed is controlled by light!

Very impressive, and allows for lots of noisemaking possibilities.  I might make make a mod like this myself since I am a fan of Shitwave and Rez.  I assume you are using an LTC1799 with the LDR in place of the potentiometer?

A while ago I made a similar circuit (not a mod, since it is a separate device) which controls Nanoloop sync speed with an LDR (I can post code if anyone is interested), but controlling actual clock speed is much more exciting.

I'd love to post a pic,  but I don't know how... Can anybody tell me? <:(

Yup,  it is a simple pitch mod with a photoresistor in place of the potentiometer!  Phototresistors all look the same but can be very different,  so I recommend getting this one:  http://www.adafruit.com/products/161

I also recommend the LTC1799 module from the eBay seller named ecco3967,  but it seems he doesn't have any more for sale at the moment.  He may have more for sale soon though.  Check here:  http://www.ebay.com/usr/ecco3967?_trksi … 1439.l2754

*And I tried,  but still don't understand the image posting thing... I tried pasting the link (inside that string of code) from the photo on my facebook,  and the photo from instagram,  but neither works :(

If someone wants to pm me on that matter,  that would be great!  I don't want to clutter up this great thread!

i'm sorry,  I still don't get it... I'm not a computer person.  Are you saying I type:
?

Does it have to say png?

You'll have to be specific... I even had to google "iirc",  lol,  never heard that one.

Sorry about that, but yeah, that's how you do it, you do a direct link to the image, rather than lets say, the page it's on. And no, it can be in any format as far as I know.

I guess I don't know how to link directly to the image....I'm using an iPad,  does that matter?

Edit:  it is kind of cumbersome to do on my iPad,  butI  figured it out!

Here's another one that I built this morning.  Again with light controlled clock speed.

Where did you buy the silicone pads?

Offline

Are you referring to the white silicon d-pad pad?  One DMG I opened up had a white one,  so I saved it for a clear case project.  That DMG was also held together with phillips head screws,  instead of tri-wing screws.  Weird.

The buttons themselves are clear plastic,  not silicon.

I would like to have both case leds and lighted start/select buttons that blink to the music, and a pot to control how much it blinks (From always on to blinking). How would I achieve this?
