you could try using a bunch of small paper clips and trim them down. put them in the holes and then tape them down from the out side...maybe. thats what im about to do with the case im about to paint.

i think toothpicks would seal up the holes better then a paper clip

and toth picks would absorb some of the paint paper clips would run the paint to the edges.

This is hillarious. I was actually coming in here to say scratch the paper clip idea and use tooth picks if you have them. It seemed like a smarter idea and worked. But it appears you guys realized that before I did lol

But the thing is that the gba has real small speaker covers

just realized that a gba has rectangular speaker holes.

maybe press some silly putty into the holes from the outside.... just enough to plug the holes

paint and then remove the putty

just a thought...

I know it's been a while but does anyone know an European brand of clear spray paint? Something from Montana preferably, not sure which product to choose. I did paint an aftermarket shell yellow once but it's solid and doesn't look as good as, say, OP's project. Thanks!

for the speaker hole problem here's an idea:

use something soft and flexible like silly putty or that sticky tack stuff.
use just enough to cram it in all the holes and then trim off any excess that has squeezed out of the holes and cracks.
do this before you tape up.

I did a gba case as well.

Came out quite sweet smile
Still needs some cleaning on the edges tho.
