Hiya. We're a nintendocore band ''Moshing samurai''
We're planning on rerecording and re-releasing our first EP ''atlantis tapeworm incident'' in a months time or so. Compared to an original release this one will have a more polished sound, 2 extra bonus tracks, an acoustic version of one of our songs and at least one chiptune version of our songs. We're looking for a chiptune artist to create one or two remixes for the album. The album will be distributed free as a digital download and you'll be fully credited for the remix(s) on our page and in the song title. smile

MIDI files are great for remixing, saves you the effort of manually figuring out the notes.
But I get what you're getting at.
Also, lots of chiptune trackers support MIDI import wink

we tab all our songs
sometimes I use the midis to slap together quick demos

ain't nothing wrong with a midi

unless you're toadpeach puking 8bit youtube videos in 5 minutes after converting a tab you downloaded from ultimate guitar into a midi

that's just wrong

This guy didn't make the song or the video

Seriously, though, does the op have a particular style in mind that he can't replicate himself?

Didn't realise there's such an attitude about midis. If your better off transcribing and figuring everything out by ear go for it. big_smile imho midi saves time. I didn't say - here's midi's guys slap virtual drums and 8bit plug on em please... big_smile

Chunter, It's not just bout style. Need fresh ears. Different approach. big_smile xxx

PS. Never even heard brokencyde but one song just kept adding likes when made the page. Are they that bad? lulz tongue xxx

Brokencyde is basically the epitome of both god awful music, and child rapists.

Troupe Gammage made a pretty good NES remix of his band SPEAK's song "Carrie"

That's kind of irrelevant to this topic, though, isn't it?

You can use midis as a reference guide instead of a conversion tool.

constructive advice, if you offered some cash, you'd have people lining up to do this.

i remember j. arthur keenes saying he'd cover a song for 75 bucks at one point and he's one of the best there is. i bet if you even offered $25, you could get someone decent (though some would argue that's still really low).

Or you could say you'll pay, and then never respond again after they send the files if they're dumb enough to do that (like me).

I'd probably do it for like, 40 bucks
