I was browsing a collection of games my friend had in storage and we found an "official gameboy flash cart". it looks like this:

What is it for? Is it worth anything?

Is there any way of loading up ROMs on it?

Those are rare and extremely valuable to the right people, typically collectors.

The guy who runs gameboycarts.com posts here as DROP 1410. Let's all casually wait for him to show up in this thread and blow our minds with an encyclopedic knowledge of uncommon game boy hardware. wink

or just look at the link jrasor posted which is pretty much everything he'd say about it

How much is it worth? o:

given that a collector took a while to get his hands on one, a lot. just wait for DROP 1410 to come online and he'll probably tell you some about it.

I don't recall these ever being "rare"  . I think they are supposedly rather easy to find in their home land of japan

yeah, they aren't too rare if you have japan connections or access somehow.  not easy to find outside of that market,

pretty sure they were available to japanese nintendo power subscribers.  which i'm sure number quite high...  i've never heard of a # limitation on these carts (limited edition or whatever)

Yeah ok I should reframe "rare" and "extremely valuable" as "I've never seen one" and "I don't know where I'd get one."

XD alright. I'm still really glad to have it, though!

Hello there... YES!!!, I'm quite an expert of this cartridge ;-)

All you need to know about GBx and SFx: http://www.gameboycarts.com/2009/10/gb% … ndo-power/

I have two of this guys in my hands, I flashed one with LSDJ 4.6.2 (Stable version) and works pretty fine, pretty stable, and looks great ;-)

I also have the SFx cartridge for SNES ;-)

I would flash the second one with about 6 or 7 of my favorite DMG games big_smile.

You know... I was hoping this would be more like those moments at "Pawn stars" when the expert comes.
